I have asked some people I know and they have not heard anything about this. Kind of interesting. I am thinking it was some kind of last minute deal that was made by the lift ops people.

If taking these spare parts makes the lift run consistently this season, that is a win.

I still stand by my post in the killington thread though, it’s a complete joke that Sugarbush is scrounging parts from a 40 year old lift to duct tape and super glue a lift that needs a replacement. NRX is one of my favorite lifts on the mountain - as it’s all vertical and you can lap all types of terrain (when it’s working).
The parts they are sending to SB were post Poma retrofit. So while still old (about 27), not 40 years old components.

I think it is hard to say what "Parts" they are sending to Sugarbush from a single Instagram post show a truck with a tower on it. At some point this summer, I will run into John Hammond and ask the question. Everyone is just guessing at this point.
while you are talking with him, see if he will share any information on SB running next year.

Per liftblog, it’s for a communications tower. Not lift-related other than being an old lift tower.

That's interesting. Could be part of a plan to eventually replace NRX. Moving the cellular equipment from the top terminal of NRX is one of the interesting challenges with replacing the lift. Per a discussion I had at the mountain last winter, they did not think that the cellular equipment would be grand-fathered in and allowed on the terminal of the new lift. Apparently current rules no longer allow that. So a comm tower to potentially be used to relocate that equipment makes a lot of sense if that's what it is being used for.

The wasp nests are being built higher than usual, and the caterpillar coats are thicker, and to confirm the wintery weather this upcoming season we now have this, from @climate_earth20
BREAKING NEWS.
The PDO - Pacific Decadal Oscillation is currently at record low levels, last observed over 150yrs ago. If we get a La niña winter in the Northern Hemisphere, the PDO will compliment La niña, this can lead to cold/snowy winters.

Anyone know what the Sugarbush Unlimited Pass gets you over the IKON Pass? IKON Pass gets unlimited access to sugarbush. I must be missing something.

I had to go to the Sugarbush Season pass section to get my daughter's discounted college pass and was shocked to see the regular adult price. Perhaps that is the only way to buy a season pass after they stop selling Ikon passes? That and maybe it's a way for the mountain to show us how "great a deal" we are getting using Ikon?

Sugarbush's own website lists it as a college pass but with a "discount applied in checkout" message. Maybe Ikon's cart system doesn't allow for a college-only pass so they list a silly price so nobody buys it without the discount?

Exacty what I was thinking. That full price forces people to get the Ikon pass which may be more optimal for tracking and retention purposes in the long run.

This makes sense as IIRC when they announced this pass was coming back it was for college kids.

Then why show that ridiculos price at all? Just list the college pass and price. No one is going to pay $681 more for the unlimited pass and not take the IKON benefits around the country and the world. Still makes no sense.
