No trees are already tracked out and sun baked. best to stay out or risk injury.

It was nice to ski yesterday with no crowds, sun and not freezing my ass off! Headed out now to rip a few good ones.

Sarcasm trying to keep them to yourself? LOL. Plenty of still untracked spots at Ellen in the trees this morning. In general Ellen was fantastic this morning.

It looked like it was moving slower (half speed?) than normal when I skied lower FIS earlier

So back to the subject of the worthless daily reports, if they did do it "right", they'd mix things up and announce surprise grooms. Personally, I love hitting trails like FIS and others that rarely see a groom, especially in soft snow like this with bumps getting huge. They bump up soon enough, but the experience of skiing a groomed Middle Earth or Lower FIS is pretty cool and something I have only done a few times.

All that being said, everything is awesome right now. Will be out again tomorrow; hopefully crowds a little smaller...

Skied all day. No lift issues at all, conditions were grand and the crowds were very light. Except for Castlerock, we basically waited for maybe 5 to 10 groups and got on the lift. Perfect temps all day. So glad not to be frozen.

Skied in places that I haven't in a couple of years and skied untracked most of the day. Lots of hootin and woopin. ;-)

I fully expect tomorrow to be busier than today. Seems there are a bunch of people in my condo that just came up here this afternoon/evening instead of last night. Maybe off more than just Monday and didn’t rush up on Friday?

Definitely. At Sunday River there were about 7500 people today, they are expecting 9500-10k tomorrow. Sunday is always the busiest holiday weekend day given equal weather.

Not too busy for my standard. At least no real lift lines. The maze wasn’t even half full.

The slopes were a different matter. Quite a lot of barely in control yahoos. Add a fair number of over-terrained families. It’s far too crowded for my taste normally. But consider it’s a weekend, never mind the biggest holiday in winter, I would say it’s a lot better than what I can hope for.

That is not good. Someone who has a lift-background: would running at a slower speed save electricity, and thus cost? Is it due to wind? Something else?
Sometimes it can go into a sort of limp mode if one of the sensors isn’t working properly. Could be that or could be something else

We took Slidebrook to Ellen and back on Saturday. Did not time it or notice that it was slow. There was a good amount of traffic on it going both ways. Good to see it gets used. Helps to justify maintaining and running it.

Conditions were great both days and didn't seem too crowded yesterday. Having all terrain open helped to spread out the crowds. Ellen was particularly quiet Saturday!
