I like to maintain a thin layer of rust on my edges. I find it deters hypochondriac thieves. The downside is getting a tetanus booster after every day on the slopes.

I plan to store mine out behind our carriage house. Hopefully they will rust badly and my wife will let me buy new ones.

The hill behind the office may have been "Ski-Morr" back in the early 1950s (http://www.nelsap.org/vt/skimorr.html). These skis were in an old falling down shed at the base of the hill.

I actually put my skis into cryogenic chamber at the end of the season to keep them fresh for next season.
