So I'm, still draining the pool (again), I cleaned the gutters (for the second time this fall), and I "think" I've raked my last leaf.

The wreath is up, the spot light is on it. The front lights are up...but they probably need a little attention. And the lights along the stairs and deck are up...but the pool pump is borrowing the extension cord.

I may even wax a ski or two tonight.

Next? Snow tires.

Already got the snowblower tuned and lubed.

Bring it on!

My snow tires are on. Luckily I rent, so none of the yard stuff has to be done by me.

I did wax a pair of skis tonight, unfortunately they were my wife's skis that she just sold. Now they're boxed up and ready to ship. Some of my skis could use some attention, particularly in the edge department. Hopefully I get to them before the snow really starts to fly, or it'll probably never get done.

I quit. After 253 leaf bags I quit. There must be another 20-30 bags remaining, but I don't have the spirit in me. At least it's all off the good part of the lawn. Put the Christmas lights on, another 3 dead sets, as usual. Outside water faucets shut off and drained, hoses in. Last thing left is to take screens out for winter, and make another rack holder for the newest quiver member.

Billski- Wow you hand filled 253 bags!!?? If you must bag leaves you need the power bagger http://www.cyclonerake.com/bagger.htm
This will only work if you have a riding lawn mower or tractor and it is kind of expensive at $1400-1500 total.
I've got the Cyclone rake without the bagger since I don't ned to bag the leaves and it's the best investment I ever made!

Hmm, a bunch of leaves blew into my backyard while I was away. Might have to make another pass if it doesn't snow first.

That still amazes me...and makes me glad my yard is relatively open...

I'm almost done, still need to bring the hoses in. The only good thing about the warmer weather is that I didn't freeze my a$$ off putting up lights yesterday.

I don't bother taking screens out for the winter...putting them in is too much of a pain.

Thinking about the CR for next year. DrJeff and I have been having a PM conversation about it since he has one. We had an extraordinary year due to all the summer rain, typically it's about 200 bags. I just picked up 25 more bags this morning. The bagging part is what doesn't work particularly well in the CR, the bags don't stay upright and I guess it makes a mess, so some manual intervention may be required. The sale rep says you have to pour the mulch into the bags. DrJeff proposes getting the "estate vac" and just blowing the bags full from the hopper. What I'd really like to do is experiment with all the options before I sink the big one. It's way north of $1K to have a landscaper remove them all - definitely over 50 hours of labor, and after one year, they were not interested any more. I spent $150 on the damn bags alone!

I'd much rather be saving the money for skiing though.....

I was done, but a lot of leaves blew into the yard over the weekend. I think I'm still done. I usually rake the whole yard in the spring anyway to get rid of all the sticks that come down in the winter so it can wait until then.
