We’re planning to drive from NYC to VT this Friday morning; and ski Friday and Saturday, comeback Sunday morning.
We do not want to drive further north of Killington. So there are only two choices, I guess: Mt. Snow and Killington (maybe Okemo too… but they seem to have next to nothing open).
So the determining factors are: snow quality and open terrain. Based on the two, which one would you pick…?

Also, as a side question, I am reading some good reviews about The Inn at Mt. Snow. Any experience/opinions on staying there?

Thanks.

There are many on this board who will tell you that driving one hour north past Killington will be one of the best investments of time you have made in a long while.... I can not speak to the southern areas- others will.

My first suggestion is to head an hour north (SB) however, if you are strong on staying in southern VT, Okemo might be better option only that you can do the Sunday AM half day tix,,,ski sunday AM and be on the road at 1, back to NYC by 5...or head to K Friday half day, all day Saturday and do the half morning tix at okemo on the way home....I've done that before..

The INN at Longtrail is always a good time... (across from the PICO entrance)

 If you are going to make the effort to drive to VT why not go where the snow is? It is obviously north of Killington right now. I guess I'll never understand why people choose to put a limit on the quality of thier experience by looking at driving to Killington as the maximum effort they are willing to put in for their enjoyment. Have you seen the Jay Peak report from this weekend...
More for me i guess :spin:

I would go but my fiance won’t want us to drive up that far north. She’s a firm believer that the conditions this early in the season don’t warrant that much driving. She’s a New Englander, expert skier, former ski instructor (at a major NH resort), etc but she dreads the November skiing from the days when she had to do it as a job… so South/Central VT is a compromise.

BTW, we’re going to be at Jay Peak in late Dec.

Is there any night life in Mt. Snow…? We like quite a bit Killington’s night life.

Here's the link the the Mount Snow affliated nightlife :

In addition to those, Deacon's Den and The Silo are usually decent, and for a more laid back setting, I'm personally partial to the Maple Leaf Brewery down in Wilmington, just north of the light.

The Mount Snow nightlife can be fun, but generally speaking isn't Killington's nightlife
