Killjoy? No, you my friend would be better defined as a powder snob, a mentality that I vow never to subscribe to. This flatlander hack is more than content skiing the lame tracked out crud you see in that vid. The day I become too selective about my skiing surface is the day I should either (1) hang up the skis or (2) move out west. Neither are likely to happen so how about keeping terminology nitpicking to yourself? :???:

don't get me wrong its not like i wouldn't have been riding there(i was at stowe) and i no way trying to diminish the fun day you had but its just not what i would consider a powder day. to say i am a powder snob when i average 70 or so days at the creek is just plain silly. im like the freakin mailman, sleat, rain, or snow im going to get my turns.

Whatever, dude. It snowed the day/night before. Like more than a foot. That's a powder day to me, but because it's not untracked, we're all lame.

I think some of it was untracked when we first got there.....The vid was taken after about 5 or so runs.

IIRC You're right. The beginning of the day is a little fuzzy, I vaguely remember taking the first run down a disappointingly, completely groomed upper and lower wizard. :( There was definitely fresh tracks to be had on other runs though. I'm sure freshies were being scored all day for those in the know about woods runs.

Yep. And the footage from Blackline, while tracked, was still powder-esque. But really, we're lame. Just admit it.

IIRC we had like the 3rd or 4th tracks down the upper part of blackline the first time we ventured over there.

I think I might have to find how I can join the elite group of CLITS so I can participate in trips like that.

Dude, UR a lock to be in the C.L.I.T.S.

1. You live in Connecticut
2. Your avi shows you ride a mountain bike
3. If you have/or get bump skis UR in

Geez, and here I thought you already were a CLIT!

Randi and I were the the following day. The conditions were sweet!

i was there 2 days later. what a great weekend!!

I was there that day with the CLITS. ALLSKIING & I were the 2 non-CLITS in attendance that day. That was a great day. First day on my new Gotamas. Great conditions to break them in!

I was also at Magic 2 days later (on Sat 3/1). It was actually even better as they had gotten another foot and a half Friday & Friday night. That was the best 2 day stretch of powder skiing last season that I experienced.

Brings back great memories. I'm gonna pick-up one of them new Magic Savings Cards this season & hit it as much as conditions allow. Jones meter just went up some more for me.

So the only thing separating me from being just a skier or C.L.I.T is a pair of bump skis.

Looks like the only one in the video with a pair of bump skis is 2knees. I also thought it was pretty good were Greg throws a twister off the jump then you see 2knees right behind him one up him with a spread twister, no wonder Greg is so hot to beat him in the bump contest:-D

Just hopped into this one.. I was at Magic during that storm, and for a few days after, and it was SICK just about everywhere!!!

Soooo, stop all yer pissing and moaning, it just sounds like some of ya haven't been laid in a while (or skiied in a while.. I can't tell), so you're pissy. But, who knows, I may just be reading some angst between the lines. What are we all on here for again, OH YEAH, our love of skiing and snow!

Great pep talk Spook, Greg is always pissing and moaning isn't he. I do wonder why he's here sometimes. Maybe he doesn't love skiing and snow like the rest of us. just sayin.

hehe.. yeah, can you tell my post was pre-coffee? sorry... maybe it's me who hasn't been skiing in a while.. and maybe it's me that's pissy cause I crashed my bike last week and can't ride for a few weeks until the hole in my knee closes up.. whoops!

No harsh feelings were meant, my bad!

You just need to own a pair. 2knees takes it to the extreme of using them as his only pair. ;)

So yeah get yourself a pair and you're in... Well, actually there is the initiation... 8)

I think for that reason and Greg's man crush over the years with Pat's bump skiing warrants an official title as The Godfather of the CLITS

Yikes, the super secret C.L.I.T.S. initiation ritual. Of course I’ve heard rumors about it while researching for my book, but have never been allowed to witness it. Can you give us some insight Brian?

I'm pretty sure this is 2knees during the big air phase.

Is initiation the right word or will it be more of a hazing?

Our bylaws prohibit me from talking about such things to non-members. HPD, I understand that it's similar to the A.N.U.S. (Adirondack Nasty Uber Skiers for those not in the know) rituals that you must be familiar with.
