I can tell you from first hand experience this week, Stowe has great conditions right now. You will not get that in southern VT. Driving the extra miles will be worth it. Enjoy!!

I thought about driving up to North Conway but decided against it. I find the local mountains in southern NH are a safer bet when it get crowded. Tomorrow I'm planning to show up at Crotched in the mid to late afternoon and stay until I get sick of it. They're open until 3am so no rush.

Sunday I am thinking about Ragged using free vouchers I picked up at the ski expo. However, only have 2-3 trails makes me hesitant. I am almost more likely to pay for a ticket somewhere else.

A minute from the Alta exit off the I-15!
Thunder Ridge will not be open tomorrow, the one main-mountain life broke.

Wow...worst possible timing for my home hill. Absolutely terrible. The owners spent SO MUCH money on improvements...lifts included... and lost Christmas break, and now MLK weekend looks like a bust...

Due to a faulty bearing on our Triple Chairlift, we will not be open Saturday until repairs are completed. Repairs are underway but timing is uncertain. Please check back….

A real shame. They opened Thursday of last week (ma nature in the crapper, you know) and had a BUSY, awesome Saturday. Sunday they were closed for rain. All they needed was ONE more night of snowmaking to open the double and have both summits open...and be open this weekend. This really blows on so many levels... the owners really are trying to turn the mountain around. Last weekend was so busy for mediocre weather. Snow quality was the best I had seen. Everyone who works there really is a gem... you go online and look at reviews and people bash the mountain for how small and busy it is... but nearly all leave a sentence at the end saying how nice the staff are... and we really do want to be there.

Heard it's a bearing that broke. Goal is to open Saturday afternoon, realistically (I feel) will be Sunday. Gonna sleep in tomorrow... do some ski related errands, and watch my email like a hawk!

Judging from the traffic from Bennington to killington on my drive up tonight, it will be fairly busy.
glad all the terrain pods at sugarbush other than castlerock will be open tomorrow even if the trail count isn't 100%. Should be a good weekend if we can get some snow tonight and tomorrow.

It actually didn't seem too crazy on the hill at Mount Snow this morning, even with lines like that - I managed 6 runs on either the Bluebird or Grand Summit Express, 1 run on Canyon Express and Nitro Express, 4 rides up the Challenger triple on the Northface and 2 rides up the Beartrap double between 8 and 11:15

Having 20 lifts spinning for the 1st time this season AND over 300 acres of open terrain made it feel not too crowded after what Christmas week was like!!

All good here. Lots were full at mt Ellen but not crowded. Mostly ski on. Snow was great. We picked up maybe 2, maybe 3" up top. Got denser as they day went on. Still scratchy where it's steep on the natural snow trails. The groomers were damned near perfect. Thick fog up top after lunch. Getting there, another 6", if it's dense would do it.

Gore was busy for sure. Near normal MLK crowds, but less terrain than usual so it felt crowded in spots.

Mgmt says Dark Side coming on line soon.

Crotched isn't especially busy today. I'm surprised that they have almost the whole mountain open. Conditions are great too. Of course there's no lifelines even of the express quad because it is Crotched.

No, not enough depth and surface is largely man-made. Cover on trail is excellent. Only a few short trail segment unopened at this point. They blew an amazing amount of snow in two weeks. Their fan gun system does not disappoint.

Great day at SR. Didn't seem too crowded - black out day helps. Not ski on but not like Mt Snow lol. 5min lines. Seemed to be about 6-8" all day fill ins. Centers of trails sounded icy with mounds of snow. Sides of trails were very nice - few obstacles here and there, lots of snow. The Bumps here before today's snow seemed crusty with new snow on top - fun but dicey. A couple natural trails opened up during day - luckily I got to a couple before that.
