A little more information came out in the media today-
According to AK, they need to be used by January and are blacked-out for Christmas and Thanksgiving weeks.

That also sounds about right and very plausible. It would then be essentially the same promo Crested Butte is doing in Colorado. Free skiing Nov 24 to Dec 15....no voucher required. Kinda sucks for passholders though. Limited terrain, way overcrowded and skied off by 10am. Welcome to Killington River. I think they've probably already figured that scenario will drive all the joint passholders to the Loaf and make both places really busy.

This is probably the real story. Now, I think a ticket available for the full season minus blackouts if the sox win the world series sounds like a much more exciting promo with a similar cost... once insured. Perhaps this convo might plant a seed in SK's head for a promo for next year! Atleast with this promo it accomplishes the goal of getting some people to try out skiing...however, it could ruin skiing for the people who can ski!

It was on channel 9 news in manchester am today. Seems like its getting marketing value. Don't have all the facts, but as i understood weekday until mid Jan. Can't be used during holiday periods.. I did hear from one person it includes Sundays, but I did not hear that prior. So I would be curious to see if any AZ person picked up a a ticket from the game.

I wonder if they put that on before or AFTER we mentioned Ebay??? I also wonder which magic fairy is keeping them from being transferable and what magic law they think makes it illegal..lol

No, you'll find that many vouchers have that on them. Is there a law in Maine? Not sure, I haven't seen one posted on their borders (it seems like they have just about the rest of their laws posted on signs at the border). But they can reject the voucher of the see it on eBay.

It's called making people fear what they don't understand..lol Putting the word illegal on something puts the fear of god into a law degreeless soccer mom!

And so it begins. I figured there would be way more by now. People probably figure with all the blackouts etc. that they're not worth much.

These sort of offers are never a big deal to anyone besides the enthusiasts.

Telling you, they'll get maybe 2-4 thousand of them turned in maximum.

I bet there are thousands that ended up in Fenway's dumpsters. To someone who doesn't ski, its only a coupon - since they'll still need to pay for rentals, lessons, gas, lodging, etc.

Good point. If they really wanted to use it to get new people into skiing they should have done a learn to ski package that included rentals and a lesson.

I was at Fenway on Sunday and noticed that they ran a Sunday River announcement on the jumbotron between the 2nd and 3rd inning. Other than that, no other SR presence. Who knows? Maybe there'll be a sign on the field next season.
