You go girl!Nice to see the tables turned.

I have 1 girlfriend who skis. The rest go shopping for exercise..yuk. I've been boarding for 22 years and skied 12 before that. Having days off midweek,I became used to going alone and Love it! I always found it interesting how many guys are into snowsports and how few women. I've been telling my friends for years: Learn to ski if you want to meet men. Or, hang out in a ski lodge bar!

Tip for the non-skiing spouse: SNOWBOARD

When we got married I was obsessive about skiing and my wife was OK with it but not a big fan. Part of the problem was that I was advanced skier and she was a beginner. That comes with all the well-known problems. So I decided to become a beginner again with her, and we both started snowboarding. She fell in love with it. She is now the one that insists our vacations are to snowy places (even though I wouldn't mind the beach now and then). She's the one that booked a heli-board trip for our anniversary. She is the one with a multi-mountain season pass. She is does some snowboard instruction on the side of her full-time job just because she loves it. etc....

......... I am trying to make a ski buddy out of my daughter. I think she will oblige much more happily once our daughter is also a snow fanatic. This is my evil plan.

HA! ...wait till your daughter does a heli-trip...will become the jaded daughter! With the price of those operations...take 5 minutes to hug your checking acct balance today lerops!

Agree with Cannonball on snowboarding, and although the cover isn't good enough yet...might wanna think about snowmobiling..y/n???;-) Well MaYbE..;-)
I know quite a few women that love it. Usually something of instruction/rentals in the Saddleback/Rangeley area(I ThInK).. It's a ways away, but a group around Moosehead Lake does some instruction..fwiw(;-)) http://www.moosemountaininn.com/snowrentals.html .
and fwiw NEOC (whitewater rafting & snowmobiling gives tours..) http://www.neoc.com

Great idea Cannonball. Never thought of that.

My wife used to tell her single friends the same thing.

That is awesome man! My ex wanted to try snowboarding again but didn't want to hold me up all day. We had planned to do a day where she snowboards and I rent skis so we'd both be beginners. Never happened before we broke up though.

So, I'm trying the online dating thing. I know some people who've had good luck so why not? Met (online) a pretty young lady the other day who happens to be an avid skier. Our first date is going to be a night session at Berkshire East. I'm pretty excited. 8)

Good luck man. Met my wife through online dating. I took my wife skiing on our second date and it was a lot of fun. A great way to feel a little more relaxed and to break the ice.

My wife is fully supportive lf my skiing habit. She does ski but is pregnant so this season was out. Only thing i wish is when shes skiing that she could realize her skills and take more chances. She like the greens and blues but its all good. She bought me my season pass this year and i love her more for it lol

I know what you mean! My real wife wouldn't have to know about my ski wife would she?

This reminds me of a issue I had many moons ago. Many Cannon regulars here probably know I spend a lot of time hanging at the rock on Taft. One year I sitting there alone and a girl and her 2 kids stop in along with a guy and quite a bit of camera equipment. He asks if I mind sitting in for a few shots with the mom and kids. Not one to jump in front of a camera I figure this will move them along quicker so I agree.Jump ahead to next ski season and somebody hands me a Cannon brochure and there I am with my "ski" family.Wow,the wife was not impressed as she had not taken up skiing yet.Maybe thats why she learned.

My wife no longer enjoys skiing, but she loves to walk. So I calculated:
walking + snow =

yhst-3356586953186_2270_5760609

Now she loves getting back on the snow again.

Dead serious guys. The wife always thought that it was pretty creepy to think I might have a secret ski family.I'll see if I can find the brochure but I don't know where it went.

I believe you! IT's just the tears of laughter rolling from my eyes have blinded me. As they say..."pictures or it didn't happen!" :)

Back in the 90's my GF started snowboarding not long after meeting me. Then she badly broke her ankle in a non ski related accident and hasn't snowboarded since. I married her anyway.
