Ok so Snowmonster confirmed my thoughts that the Favorite Five Thread in the TR Forum was intended to be back country. He mentioned that about this time of year a To Do list thread for inbounds areas is posted so why not?

I'm very excited about this year as our kids are growing up and our ski habits will be changing for the 1st time in many years. The daughter is attending college in beautiful Vermont and while we are not helicopter parents we plan on taking advantage of this to get up there (not that we need an excuse but its nice to have one). The boy is entering his first J-2 season and really hopes to improve after a week at Mt Hood in July. Interstate highways are a wonderful thing and I plan on doing the I-80 and I-87 shuffles from November to April I usually ski 50-60 days a year, so what will I hit? Well here's my to do or wish list for 2011-2012 ski season:

Camelback Pa (remains the home digs and where the boy trains)
Blue Mt Pa
Elk Mountain Pa
7 Springs PA (have a race in Jan -not looking forward to that drive.)
Belleayre
Hunter Mt
Windham Mt
Catamount
Jiminy Peak

The above except 7 Springs are all day trips.

West Mt (always passed this place, got to check it out for an afternoon)
Gore Mt
Mad River Glen
Glen Ellen (sorry Oakapple & Riv)
Sugarbush
Killington (Daughter plans to work there)
Pico
Okemo
Magic
Stratton
Bromley
Mt Snow

I get a comp to Jay with my Camelback pass so a trip to there Smuggs and Stowe (nice 3 day weekend huh?) will be in order if I can work it out but that might be dependent on what our annual trip to Utah is or is not this year. Be interested to see if I can get through it.

Since this is a resorts only to-do thread, here's my list:

1. On my pass - Explore more of Brackett Basin and the snowfields at the Loaf, hit the new and improved Blind Ambition at the River (and some off-map stuff) and spend more quality time at Camp III in Loon.

2. Return to Stowe, Jay Peak, MRG, Magic and Saddleback

3. Visit friends in Utah - Alta, Snowbird, Deer Valley, Brighton and Powder Mountain are on the hit list.

Not too much really planned for this year. 30-40 days at Magic and then hopefully a midweek trip to the MRV to hit the Bush and MRG and maybe a day at Kmart. Maybe I'll be able to swing the AZ Summit somehow as well.

Usually ski around 40 days plus or minus a few days. Half at K-mart mid-week to get my moneys worth out of my pass the other half all over the northeast including Canada. Would love to ski more but I'd wind up in divorce court if I did. If the northeast gets washed out early, which happens, I'll consider a trip out west if the snow is still good.

Oh, and work....

I can accompany you in all of those travels....except work, of course! You're alone on that one.
