Does anybody know where in CT I can buy a pair of those little plastic toddler skis? You know, those ones that just strap onto regular winter boots and have fish scales on the bottom so the child doesn't slide backwards? My daughter is turning two years old this year and I'd like to get her a pair for Christmas. I think this would be a good time to just get her on these skis to begin to get her used to them. Maybe drag her around the backyard a little. I don't plan on sending her down Tuckerman's until she's at least 3 . I checked eBay and found a few pairs, but when you factor in the shipping costs, I might as well just buy new ones.

we had my daughter on the lifts and on the hill skiing last year at 2.5 yrs old..we used the tip lock and bar then graduated to the tip lock and leash only.....this winter should be fun all mountain skiing at 3.5 yrs old!!! Great system

Thanks for the info.

I just looked at that site and saw that it has some really good teaching aids also. Has anybody used any of these Kid-Ski products before? How good are they? Are they hard to use?

I really can't wait to begin teaching my daughter to ski. Even though I probably won't get in as many days on the steeps or bumps, this should still be a fun winter.

Oops! I must have been writing while you posted that.

Looks like I'll pull the trigger on that system for Christmas.

Thanks for the info!

for obviouse reasons they wont let the plastic skis on the hill,,,we eneded up buying a real pair of Atomics ($125) and rent her boots for the season. We can reuse the skis when our youngest (6 months now) is old enough or we can trade them in for the next size up...

Welcome ssusca and Ian!

I did an ebay search for you (I'm hiding from the very particular Christmas decorating wife at the moment) and came up with this:

TODDLER SKI: EBAY

You might want to keep on checking ebay as you can get pretty good deals. As said before, you may want to call up your mountain to find out what kind of equipment is banned.

Thanks guys,

I think I'll probably go with the KID-SKI system.

I foresee a lot of nights at Mount Southington this year with the little one.

for sure i know MT.Southington, PRidge, Woodbury and Thunder Ridge in NY do not allow plastic skis...use the plastics around the house on the carpet, in the back yard when it snows,,,at this age its all about "glide time" and them getting used to the sensations on gliding,,,I still use the T bar in the house and swing my little on on it, she loves it....
