Even though it didn't hit the summit, it's too bad they don't run the Cog Ski Train any more. It looked so cool.

Always wanted to ski the west slope. The ski train looks awesome. I've rode the train in the summer and it's an epic ride. To bad it didn't plow it's way to the summit. That would take some balls!!!

I did it a few winters ago with my girl on a Valentines day trip.. She wanted to say she skied MtWashington like I do every year... :)

It was snowing all day - we were the only ones who could really ski.. Did 2 runs.. Had untracked most turns..
She had a blast - I was bored but smiled for her... :)

I've since skinned on and beside the cog tracks.. It's a great way to access that side..

Surprised to hear so many people want to hit Berkshire East? I did a day trip there a few years ago- it's a fun little place, but doesn't seem like a "destination." Are people just looking to cross it off a list? Or did I totally miss out on something special there?
This board has a high percentage of folks in CT and central MA. This is actually a great mountain within two hours for folks in those two regions. Certainly deserves a visit for someone interested in hitting MA's best ski area. Though I am surprised any one would have it in their top five unless they have hit most of New England's best offerings. They do the less crowded, inexpensive, less traveled by, mid-sized area thing quite well so folks that are attracted to that type of skiing might certainly well have it as a higher priority than many bigger areas. I think location really is the biggest draw given its the best area within a two hour driving radius for so many folks.

I would like to do some skiing in New York this winter, specifically Whiteface. If I don't get it done this winter I likely never will. Always wanted to check that out.
