I took a very hard fall at high speed, must be 20 years ago. I was coming down a steep, picking up speed on lower Crossover to get past the long flat near F lift, but a surface snow gun was creating the impression that the snow was good while it was actually slushy underneath. So when I reached it, my skis stopped suddenly, but I kept going. My thumb bent back completely. By the time I made it down to first aid, it was the size of a grape fruit. I iced it, took some otc pain killer, and just toughed it out without going to a doctor. For a long time it was weak & tender. It's strong now, but on humid days I can still feel that something is "off." It sucks that you're going through the same thing, but it's good that you'll be seeing your doctor.

Had the surgery yesterday. Hurting like hell. Can feel the pin and nail in it. Whole hand feels like it is on fire. Hardware come out in 3 weeks. Shooting for Crotched this weekend and Magic/Bush next week.
