Yesterday decided to take a day trip up to Ruth Mtn in the North Cascades, right next door to Mt Shuksan and Baker ski resort. Weather was overcast and on a better day the mountain would've looked like this:

<4 miles of easy trails leads you to snow, the last 2000ft are easily skinnable, and were. The summit (7115') is a rocky point but you can basically ski 6' from the top without taking skis off until around 4200ish ft. Most of the ski on the summit cone is mellow, around 25 degrees, but there are some cornices and gullies that give some steeper shots into the 45 degree arena. Also, W and E of the ridge there were plenty of gully options that could've been taken that looked like tons of fun for future trips. Took me 4:40 to fumble to the summit, around half that to the car
