Trail with No Name

Killington - Lower Powerline, and the former Rams Head trails/access routes.

Eh I would say the people who ski them still know the name of those trails.

I only skied The Light a few times. It gets so much traffic that it's a bump run. I was kind of bummed when they put Steps on the map last winter. That has also become a bump run. You can ski between pretty much any cut trail so it's not like there is any mystery about where to find the goods. The best stuff doesn't bring you back to a lift.

ha yea light can get more crowded than on map glades.....

Yeah that was a bummer that they put that on the map... it was even more of a bummer when they opened so many of them up maybe 4 or 5 years back. (Not that any of them were major secrets anyway... for the most part they were all just like "The Light" is now.

Someone too earlier had an interesting point about the names.... different runs definatley have different names to different people... I just finally learned what "The Light" was last year... but I had been skiing it for years and to me it was always just "The Tree Run off of ___________".


Now skiing stuff that does not bring you back to a lift... that just plain freaks me out... :-o

A few at Wachusett stached away. The year prior to last was shown some great woods at MRG via Snowmonster. And last year got into some great woods at Sugarbush.

Can't really say I've hit much unmarked at the Loaf since all of bracket is an official ski area!

I have no problem with naming however no-one should ever give any indication as to where these "trails" are located. Keep it all to yourself. With that being said, Gunsight, Golden Birches, Big Pine. I would add Beargut, but have never really skied it. I am too old for 25 foot cliff drops.

Not being a local to any specific resort, I could never say what the name of a trail is since I have never heard any one reference no named trails before. We stumble across many areas of most resorts that do not have trail signs but we try them any how! Many resorts name nearly every wooded section (Jay Peak, Bretton Woods) so sub trails may develop nick names with in a glade.

However, after reading this thread, I think i will have to explore more and ask a local!

Really? I have skied WaWa my whole life and the only 2 I really know about is the Pine Hill Trail and the small crap off the Roper's. In my entire time at WaWa, Pine Hill was probably only enjoyable twice.

Sort of, that met half the OP's criteria. It is on the trail map, but there is no sign for it.

Million dollar question is, if someone asked you where the entrance was, would you tell them?

I consider paradise MRG's worst kept "secret"

Paradise is on the map but Paradise Lost is not. I wouldn't send a stranger to Paradise Lost but I have no problem showing a stranger how to get to Paradise.

there some decent stuff at wachusett, i mean it aint jay or stowe, but drop off the right of ropers towards the end of the trail, follow the tracks and theres a pretty sick line. some decent drops, and it opens up a bit to get somewhat of a turn or two in. also go into the woods when you get off the summit lift, go right and follow the hiking trail. pretty gnar cliff and the trail is skiable. or hike to the summit, ski down the up auto road, and cut off at a hiking trail near the view point with the big cliffs, theres a wide open section, and some good lines. you have to get a ride back from the windmill farm though
