Which resort(s) in the Berkshires are most likely to have some ungroomed trails after today's dump? (which is another way of saying, who won't groom everything?)

Berkshire East -- they'll also be open tomorrow according to their web site.

BEast, without question although I don't know if they'll get quite enough to open up the really good stuff. They're pretty liberal with thin cover though so if they get a foot, you never know.

Hmm...

so while they state they will have ten trails open, you are pretty sure, based on (your experience?) that they will not groom everything? They were pretty strict about not skiing in the woods last time I was there. I called but nobody is answering the phones there. Hmm.

Plattsesskill. I know I butched the name but they will have the off-piste stuff. Heck they could not groom it even if they wanted to

While Berkshire East would be a good choice later in the season, now is not the time to be skiing "ungroomed" terrain there. Not enough cover in most spots and will most likely destroy your skis. This is setting up for a great base so starting the season off right, but as for some ungroomed snow I would say that's not the best choice for this early in the season. You really need a good 1-2 feet of snow to really open up the mountain this early in the season and even that could not be enough if it's the light stuff on top of nothing.

Oh gosh, I already went through that at Cannon and Jay last month. I'm OK with uncontrolled damage. It's fun (I have an odd perspective!) I just like powder much more than I like my skis.n.boards :)
