I'd say it's pretty clear HPD and dmc are both homeland defense guys... in my impression anyway.

Not that that's a bad thing....

so who is gonna sack up and link names to some of the less endearing ones.......... :flame:

You love a good flame war don't ya?

From the 2 times I've skied wth him I'd say Jim G. has a little Techno Freak in him. Not over the top, but there. Alot of instructors, make that most, are like that.

I don't know him, but based on a recent thread I'd wager Tinman is a Woodsy the Troll

There has to be some Fun Day Out, Fair Weather and Family Guys in here. There's just too many of them at every mountain every winter weekend to not have some in this forum.

hey its a weakness of mine. especially in the summer. i dont want an all out steel cage death match but some good natured ball busting is always fun.

I'll say SkiDork has some of the racerdad qualities. I dont think anyone here except for Andyzee and BobR have met him but we sure get alot of updates about his son. I do enjoy reading the posts about his camps and watching the vids of his comps though.

Wow, soft landing.

BTW, the Ski Dad defination was my personel favorite. The tie in with Lodge Mom was great. You just know there are a lot of those couples.

Yes, it was.

The tie in to lodge mom was hilarious but not applicable in this case.

Since August appears to be self analysis/ introspection month based on a few thread topics that have emerged, after much thought between hits, I'm a:
Charger on days that are packed powder or icy and feeling a need for speed.
The Specialist all the time, because where (terrain, slope, trees), what and how I ski is often dictated by conditions.
Fun Day Out when I used to rent a skihouse for the season and had a season pass at Camelback. Never felt the rush to be first chair.
The Conservative on occasion, especially in the Pokes. If a coupla diamonds are freshly blown/groomed and there are few folks skiing it, I'll lap them all day long.
The Flowmeister on occasion, especially on new or rarely skied hills.
The Vagabond on new or rarely skied hills and there's something to be said about ripping the sides with piles of sugar.
Fair Weather Guy to the extent that I don't buy tons of gear and have a modest quiver but put in way more days than 10. And will drop what I'm doing when new snow is called for in the Pokes. That's been such a rare occurrance over the past few years that most midatlantic skiers prolly have a bit of fair weather guy/gal in em.

I would say bvibert is the Conservative. At least, when he's not stuck skiing with me.

As for me, I've done the Lodge Mom thing. I don't like it (though it has it's place at times). :p I'm somewhere between the Conservative and Fun Day Out. Though I don't generally take a lot of breaks as I'm usually only able to ski 3 hrs or so at a time. Used to Collect Tickets on Jacket in my first season, too. What a gaper!

I'd accept racer dad although Ty isn't a lodge mom... I might also be a "lives vicariosly through kids" as well..

Here's some one that came to mind: (only people I've skied with or met)

Ty - Sick Chic

DMC - Mayor of the mountain

AndyZ - Conservative

JimG - Charger

BobR - Fun Day Out

KrisSkis - can't decide...

Geoff - Specialist

Skiadikt - Dirtbag Ripper

The Specialist – skis bumps or powder or trees, etc. on every run they take if conditions give them that option.

I think I'm more of an opportunist than a specialist. If it's a beautiful sunny spring day with soft spring conditions, I'll spend all day in corn snow bumps workin' on the tan. If it's a big powder day, I'll seek out the untracked all day. If the woods are good, I'll do that all day. If I discover fresh-blown velvet on something, I'll do laps on that. Given my choice, I'll gravitate towards medium pitch ungroomed natural snow trails but I mostly tend to seek out the best conditions and stick to that.

I haven't skied (yet) with any AZers so I can't describe them, but I will attempt to descripe myself so some one of you may recognize me if you come to Greek. I feel I'm a Conservative Specialist with a Vagabond Dirtbag as a Mayor who on occansion will fall off his Barstool.

Who likes flirting with the Lodge Moms?
