Utah Resorts: Low Snow, But Steady Business

Not that it matters to most in here, but this SLC Tribune article states that though snow was down, out-of-town visitors did come skiing and the season was not a wash.

Of particular note:


  • Alta is open until April 29th;
  • Snowbird plans on being open through May (weekends);
  • Most resorts are closing April 15th.

With such a poor season in the East, I can see the numbers in Utah to go up. Easy access seems to be a common priority on this site as well as others. People like SLC.
My buddy just went to Brighton yesterday. He called to say that they are just about done with snow and won't be open much longer. Big Sky is still 100% open, depending on wind. The Northern latitude really helps this time of year.

Wow, I had no idea that Brighton was that low on snow. I figured that they had a good base, but not as deep as the LCC areas.
