I'm heading to Vail tomorrow for a little west trip, even though we've got tons more fresh snow up here at the Bush. But I've never skied in Colorado... so I'm going anyway.

What's my best bet for finding good bumps there? How many bump runs will I find, and what are the best ones?

Thanks

plenty of good bumps. one of my favorites is a combo line called ppl made up of 3 runs - prima, pronto & log chute. that will take you down to the highline lift which is a lift that also serves some great bump sking. runs like look ma off the wildwood express from mid-vail also have great bumps. there's also some great bumps (and trees) off the skyline express in blue sky basin. enjoy!

btw, if you have a day, it's definitely worth hitting beaver creek. the creek is one of our favorite places and is very under rated. grouse mtn served by a hsq is almost all bumps with runs like bald eagle, osprey & falcon park being very steep. peregrine off the birds of prey lift may be the longest steepest (whatever that means) bump run we've skied. also some short, steep shots off the larkspur lift.

I was at Vail last year and can't even remember half the place it's so big. Just the back bowls alone are bigger than most resorts. You'll find plenty of bump runs with the temps they are getting.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, Beaver Creek is closed. The only remaining open places are Vail, A-Basin, and Breck. I'm skiing Vail because they're offering a spring deal for $20 tickets for anyone who has a season pass to any area in the country. $20 for Vail is a heck of a deal... I'll just take my Bush pass with me, and be good to go!

These are the bumper's highlights at Vail.

PPL is a thigh burner.

I've been to Vail 2X and never left the Back bowls until I had to get back to my car. They are great.

I feel the same way about Blue Sky Basin, but I've never been fortunate enough to hit the place on a real powder day.

you can't go wrong at Vail. They seem to have something for everyone.

I recall Riva to Primo to Pronto as an outstanding bump run. You'll know it when you get to the bottom.
