On boyne pass please
Cat run like it once was would give me serious pause to consider iKon. I can't do it with Loon as the only NH pass, but a 5 month Cat season with serviceable snowmaking would be hard for me to pass up.

Is any of Wildcat private land or is it all leased from USFS? I don't know if you can maintain the lease and cease operating the concession.

No, but it's going to happen eventually.
I think Katz returning likely bought them some time, but Prince claims activist investors are starting to look into Vail. Now, he could be full of crap, but I doubt it, because it makes a lot of sense to me financially.

If it happens, it will likely be a couple more years as this Katz reset seems to infer that each resort will be operated in a certain tier class, and each resort will be able to market its own vibe/culture once again. For example, Mount Snow has brought back their "We
" marketing angle that began begore Vail bought Peak.How they choose to operate or limit operations at certain properties remains to be seen if theres any appreciable changes

Surrounded by BW and Black both open. BW open daily now.
I am 45. We used to go to North Conway for shopping when I was a kid. I can remember when BW was mainly a locals place and Attitash was THE PLACE to ski and had a ton of stuff in the summer. It is just crazy how it has changed (or so I hear).

They would run it like they run Sugarbush, except with less money for lift maintenance since there are fewer visitors
I know that Alterra recently bought Schweitzer and A-Basin, but I get the vibe (for multiple reasons) that they are getting tighter with money. Even if Atti-cat were available I am not sure if they would spring for it.
Boyne is also getting tight with money. They are downgrading the Boyne Rewards program and doing some other "non-Boyne like things" to cut costs.
Pacific just sold Ragged and picked up SilverStar. Methinks that they are not interested in any other Northeast Resorts.
So I am not sure "who" would buy them. Oh wait, I can think of someone......
Jokes aside, I don't see Vail selling or anyone that would buy. It's the time in which we live.

So on a serious note, you're right. And apparently, at least according to DHS, there was one legitimate party interested in Wildcat and Vail ignored them.
Sunapee, Wildcat and Attitash web sites all say “opening day not yet announced or confirmed “. Crotched still has an update from March saying they are closed for the season, see you next year!
This is the first year that we did not renew our Epic passes. Seems it was the right decision.
But I really don’t get it. I can sort of see Wildcat and Crotched might not fit the Vail mold. But we used to ski Sunapee and it was crazy busy, surely, surely Sunapee made them money. And it’s a really nice small mountain. And Attitash being close to North Conway, all those condos and the mountain village. Again surely that is a profitable resort. So why dontt they try? I know they want the feeder mountains for their big western resorts. But I think Sunapee and Attitash were.
