Good bacon buffalo cheeseburgers too.

Great trip, but something strange happened today. I woke up in New Jersey. Damn.

That sounds delicious.

The bacon buffalo cheeseburger part, that is...not the waking up in Jersey. I do that enough already...

Sounds like an awesome trip man, very jealous.

Haha. Yeah man, I hear ya about waking up in Jersey.

The last 6 days in Vail were like a dream. We knew we'd have pretty good conditions when we got there on Tuesday, but none of us expected what we actually got. Like my pal Skiadikt says, it's all about the timing. Nothing like the feeling you get when you know you nailed it, and we nailed it big!!

Today is a real reality check. No first gondi. No fresh tracks. No balls deep powder. No happy hour at Bart and Yeti's. Just a big pile of crap on my desk that will take a few days to get through. No way I can complain though. Not after a week like that. Colorado was very kind to us this trip. Rocky Mountain High for sure.

welcome back to babylon!

Babylon Long Island? That's nice, but I'd rather be in Colorado singing John Denver songs at the Red Lion.

And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply
Rocky mountain high

welcome back to the brokedown palace ...

So I heard. Guess the west trumped the east big time this past week. I've heard nithing but horror stories about the power and the ice. Brokedown palace indeed.

River gonna take me
Sing me sweet and sleepy
Sing me sweet and sleepy
all the way back back home
It's a far gone lullaby
sung many years ago
Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come
since I first left home

Rode a chair with 2 ski patrollers today and I asked them about going to jail for poaching. Both said they never heard of it happening. Loss of lift ticket, yes. Suspension of season pass, yes. Possible safety meeting with patrol, yes. Jail, no. Neither one of them backed up what you're saying about going to jail. I'm not saying it's never happened because I don't know. These 2 patrollers said they never heard of it happening. Gotta take their word for it.

here you go, these people got to spend the afternoon in Jail.

ASPEN — Three powder poachers were arrested Sunday for skiing in a closed area at Aspen Highlands.

The skiers names haven’t been released by the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office but officials have confirmed they were each issued a summons for violating the state’s skier safety act.

Aspen Skiing Co. spokesman Jeff Hanle said the skiers went into the G-9 portion of Highland Bowl, which is out of bounds.

Typically, those caught skiing or boarding in closed sections of the mountain are subject to having their ski passes or lift tickets revoked. But this season is not typical.

“Anyone in this kind of terrain and in these kinds of conditions is going to be subject to the maximum penalty,” Hanle said, adding avalanche danger is extreme and deaths are occurring locally and at other ski areas as a result of people heading into the unstable backcountry.

“The message is ‘don’t do it’ and if [arrests are] what it takes to save lives then that is what it takes,” Hanle added.

i was actually a bit worried i was going to cause a slide today. Ducked a rope in some really steep woods with some sun baked snow. wouldn't have been anything big, but it's been on my mind lately
