Resort or Ski Area: Wachusett Mountain, MA

Conditions: Spring... Temps in the mid 50s before sunset, low 40s after

Trip Report:

Good spring night at Wachusett tonight. Skied in shorts before sunset with temps in the mid 50s and bright sun. It got colder as the night went on with some things starting to harden, but most of it stayed soft. Amazing how 5 days ago I couldn't stay out for more than 3 runs at a time becuase it was so cold and now I'm skiing in shorts.

Conifer: Large patch of slush on the flat at the top, but good wet snow after that. Tons of bumps all over the place, especially at the steep.

10th: The bumps were REAL nice before sunset with great lines and nice soft snow. They got hard when the sun went down so they weren't as good. Salamander is still hanging on and the rest of the trail was nice.

Smith: Very bumpy, especially at the headwall. The bottom was very fast all night and the snow was VERY edgeable... good for huge arcs. Polar Express had no line and was in full speed.

Hitchcock: A few puddles at the beginning, especially in between the mounds. After that it was good. Frannie's has some bare spots right in the middle.

Look Ma: Features are all the same as last week. Snow was very good in the park... albeit slow. The pipe SUCKED. The walls were beyond vertical in some spots and in others it wasn't really round... rather about round to 45 degrees and then straight up from there.

Challenger: Great fast snow the whole way and perfect for racing. Minuteman was in full speed and no line.

Well, looks like 70s tomorrow and then rain Thursday, then things turn back to winter with a snowstorm Friday night. I'll be at Stowe Saturday and Sunday.
