SNOWMAKING TO RESUME THIS WEEKEND!
Great news -- the snowguns will start firing again this weekend! It looks like winter weather is finally kicking into gear on Saturday and this blast of unseasonable temperatures is coming to a close!
We anticipate re-starting snowmaking operations by Saturday night and will go full-speed ahead. The long range forecast is good all week with overnight temperatures in the 20's. With those type of temperatures -- barring any unforseen change in the forecast -- that should allow us to be able to open by Wednesday, December 6. Please note that more marginal temperatures will require additional snowmaking time before we're able to welcome you to the new season. Rest assured, we will make snow every chance to can as the temperatures allow and will open as soon as conditions permit.
Thanks to our increased snowmaking firepower, if we see temperatures into the 20's or below, we will likely be able to open within approximately 48 hours of operations. More marginal temperatures will require additional snowmaking time before we're able to welcome you to the new season. Our goal is to focus on Connifer Connection first, opening the Polar Express Quad. We will then try to get Indian Summer on the Monadnock Triple and Challenger on the Minuteman Express Quad.
We know everyone is anxious to get the season started, as are we. Take advantage of this brief season-opening delay to come up to the mountain to do some holiday shopping in Mountainside Ski & Sports Shop, pick up a "Card of Wachusett" for your holiday gifts, drop off your equipment in the Mountainside Service Center for a pre-season tune-up or to get your season pass picture taken.
Please keep in touch with the website or our snow phone 800-SKI-1234 for updates.
