Really good day of skiing at Waterville. No powder, but for 5" manmade on Ciao, which we poached. Heavy man-made powder, but it was beautiful. I was so stoked at the bottom of the second run on Ciao that I accidentally did a front flip. : Other than that, uncrowded, good snow, great early season skiing. MY new skis can charge. I never found the point where they lost control, only the point where I lost control. I'm really tired and sore today. First day skiing with my DSLR and it worked like a champ. 400+ pictures shot on burst mode. Forgot to take the polarizer off and the light was really flat and dim (cloudy and snowing all day). Best pics below.
Scenic stuff first, then the action...
Snowing all day, lightly.
this is as crowded as it got all day
cool boarder. He was riding really far forward on his board, and leaning way into the snow. never seen that before.
charging.
A racer as viewed from the high country double. damn fracking old slow diesel lift. It moved about the speed of a quad at unloading. I forgot my facemask and im pretty sure I got frostbite/nip on my face from the ride up this lift. At the top is was so zoned out and cold I forgot to lift my tips, the front one caught on the snow in front of the unload ramp, I was pulled off the chair and dragged along the snow to the unload ramp...
I can jump!
Really! I can!
