Good morning fellow AZers. This is a call to action. As many of you know our member highpeaksdrifter is completely obsessed with the C.L.I.T.S and everything our little group mogul enthusiasts stands for. Unfortunately, he has a very rare condition called Clits-infatuatus. The good news is, it's fully curable, but we all need to be a support group for poor HPD. Together we can help him rid himself of this crippling disease and give HPD his life back.

Hardly a day goes by where HPD doesn't make some sort of snide comment about the C.L.I.T.S. and how we're less of skiers because we like to ski the MRV over making the trek to Whiteface when we do find the time to venture away from Sundown. This condition manifests itself in many ways, with such odd behavior being one of the most common symptoms. Its cause is truly not understood yet, but one theory is it's a result of investing so much time, money and energy into being a Whiteface skier only to find that a group of posers in CT can be as equally passionate about a little 600 vertical foot hill. For people afflicted with this disorder, they really struggle understanding how that is possible and they tend to lash out, sometimes involuntarily. It might actually be associated with a larger type of Napoleon complex which could explain the insistence of skiing the hill with the greatest vertical drop in the East and the opinion that any other place is inferior.

In an effort to aid highpeakdrifter in his recovery, from this point forward we are retiring the C.L.I.T.S. acronym. We need to try and remove any triggers that compound HPD's condition. Hopefully eliminating use of the C.L.I.T.S. acronym will be enough. If his disorder persists, we may need to take drastic measures including banning any video from Sundown. This is the first step though and I'm hopeful it will work. Please join me in helping HPD heal. Thank you for your cooperation.

Get well soon, HPD. You're a grumpy old man, but we still love you buddy!

So, I have to ask. Did one of your kids ask your wife an awkward question because they were reading over your shoulder while you were logged onto alpinezone?

Can someone please help me? I'm still fairly new to this forum, and although I know what C.L.I.T. generally means, what does each letter in the acronym stand for (besides Coalition for Liberation of Itinerant Tree-dwellers)? I assume C is for Connecticut, but after that I'm at a loss.

I have met HPD once. He is a bit obsessed with the CLITS but I can honestly say he is a super nice guy in person. In support of this effort I promise to personally retire CLIT and ANUS from my AZ vocabulary.

Connecticut Legit Intense Terreain Seekers.

And I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Killington has the most lift-serviced vertical, for those who don't want to hike 300ft (but want to go uphill and cross parking lots during a horribly long descent .)

Greg often used the term Legit Terrain, which I found amusing. When I originally made up the acronym I had Connecticut Legit Terrain Seekers. Then I realized if I through in a word with an I in it, it would be C.L.I.T.S. which I found really amusing. It caught on.

That's not true, WF is 3,200 feet right off the Summit Quad and it's all LEGIT TERRAIN.

Kmart is less.

I think we need to get away from this need to group everyone together completely.

Gary, wouldn't you be a GAPER too? ;-) You are amongst the most radical!!!!

I stand corrected, for some reason I thought Juggernaut had more vert than WF's lift serviced. As much of a joke as them claiming any more than 1500ft vert is (unless you count Pico.)

So CLITS is really a HPD self-inflicted condition? Well, at least I'm glad I finally know what it stands for...........and I'm glad the Sundown crew didn't assign that acronym to themselves, because that would have been kind of queer (and I don't mean in a sexual orientation kind of way).

Alas, I'm conflicted. I've skied with HPD. Nice guy. We'll be up in Placid skiing WF Sun, Mon, Tues and I always welcome the opportunity to take a few runs with him. At the same time, I'm hoping to run into a few Sundown regulars and ski with them if I make the trek over tomorrow afternoon/evening for some bumpage (some early rain and warm weather should make for some nice, soft bumps.....hopefully), they seem like nice guys too. If my brother comes with I may even bring the video camera!

Here's hoping all ills are cured!

Oh, and as for any WF versus MRV debate.......I'd have to side with the CL.......(oops, sorry).....the Sundown crew on that one given their proximity to both, especially if there weren't concerns over having a non-skier, or someone who really wants a walk-to village with lots to do. We're and hour and a half closer to Placid and my wife loves the town, and the skiing is great, so Placid is an easy choice for us. But if the drive to each were the same......and everyone was skiing all day? For pure skiing, if there were no other considerations, I'd have MRG, Sugarbush, and WF in that order for overall terrain. Kind of splitting hairs with that, because they all have lots to offer, but.......I'm just sayin'.

You know all that C.L.I.T.S talk might be what's responsible for the extra spam around here lately . . .
