Okay fellas, it's looking like Saturday may be a complete washout :( (Pause while TB wipes the  away). However, if that is the case, he might come down with the "24-hour" bug on a nice day during next week (midweek) and would be jonesin' to ski one of these places (new list...)

  • Cannon
    Waterville Valley
    Loon
    Gunstock
    Ragged
    Sunapee

Which would you pick? If any of you are free and interested to join in, drop a PM. Thanks!

Being of one close mind. Out of those I would go to Loon. They made the most snow base depths should hold up. Very easy ride. Top to bottom at Loon is something I don't get to do on weekends cause of crowds. The vert. is nice. Taking next Friday off for Reggae, can't grap another day next week.

I would pick Cannon or Loon for a mid-week spring ski excursion. Depending on the weather I would make the call as I drove up. If we do get a lot of rain on Saturday the choice may come down to Loon as they have the base to weather a warm and rainy weekend.

Gunstock website says 4/3 will be their last day. I'm guessing Loon might be the best option. Trailboss, I'm sending you a PM.

Loon had a ton of snow on the trails that we could see driving past the place on monday 3-28 though the rain was pouring down. Loon got about 2" of snow before it changed to rain. Bayond I-93 and west into Vermont, there was no new snow from monday's storm and very little snowcover in most spots on I-91.

As much as I like Ragged, I like them much better mid-winter... I'd have to agree with the above posters, head north to Loon or Cannon. I'll try and post a mini-report on Bretton Woods Friday nite.

Wow! This rain must've really hurt them. Glad you guys got up there...
unlikely any more than it would have hurt bromley or stratton. they had a huge base and were fully open on friday. likely it was a lack of paying customers recently (not that us AZ'ers helped that any...). i have never seen magic go into april since i have been skiing there, just not enough demand....

I won't be there Sat partially for that reason also. The vert Challenge only takes place on the West side on Coolidge street. But the lines to park will start at 7.30 and you will park in the South mountain lots by 9am...that would be my guess. Mid week should be fine.

(Sigh....) Just checked the weather and snow reports....NO skiing at Pat's and 2-3 MORE inches of fr&*()% r%^$!!!! Complete washout this weekend...  :x  ...breathe, breathe Trailboss. So it looks like I'm going to call in sick next week and take a day to go somewhere...hoping Cannon has snow 'cause I'd like to get back up there after a 6-year hiatus.

I think that I will also be waiting until next weekend to go skiing again with all the rain forecast for this weekend. I could see Cannon from our hotel over this past weekend, and it did look well snow covered. There was still alot of snow in most spots in the Mount Washington Valley. There is also a chance that snow could fall up there on the backside of the storm.

Yes, I believe that Magic is on the card...but I'm watching the weather here and keeping my fingers crossed because our little hill has said that they are going to try and reopen for this weekend! So, we'll be there on Sunday but I'm thinking of maybe staying closer to Worcester on Saturday...hear me out...I'm going to be driving clear to Vermont Law for their open house on Friday (oy) and then back to Worcester, so a part of me doesn't want to drive to the end of the earth on Saturday

Oh, but you gave up your freedom of choice when you posted the poll. You must ski the area decided by the poll or "No more skiing for you!" :p

At the time of this post it looks like you'll be skiing Mt. Snow. Have fun!

Neet idea though; to have us decide where you ski. Next season an adventurous person could succumb themselves to a poll for each outing. We pick the place, they go there.

Yeah, something to think of for next season...you chose, we review for you

My idea was to get input more or less as opposed to having you live vicariously through me

OK, It's come down to Cannon, WV, and Loon. Cannon is reporting 25 trails today and Loon has 41. WV is reporting 40. I've also got to dig up my card....
