I love to read a novel mid week anyway.

Personally, I love the detail in trailboss's reports, but this did make me laugh. I'm waiting for him to color-code the bolded trail names (e.g. green, blue, black).

OK, it's down to Cannon or Loon for Friday. Was keen on going to Loon, but I like the upper mountain of Cannon. Is there plenty of cover up there? Anyone been lately?

I could see 3/4 of the way up Cannon last Sunday so so at best. They probably moved stuff around. If you go to cannon stop at the basin on the way back south. 10 seconds off the highway. 2 min walk in. Bvibert your bride will like that... minimal walk. Have fun guys.

Been to the basin...pretty cool.

As for Cannon, well, I've got tix to both here and Loon. WV as well. It's a real toss-up. I got a trip report from an RSNer yesterday who had good things to say. I've always liked Cannon's upper mtn.

Thanks for the tip, but I've already been to the basin many times. Its one of those places that we just have to stop by at everytime we're in the area, sort of like when we used to all be craning our necks to the side to see the "Old Man" on that first time through the notch every trip...

do u know how much there lift tickets will cost, there is only 3 open lifts so it should be pretty cheap

The key part of going for me is convincing my dad to drive up there, next ski season i will have my license so and hopefully a car so ill be able to go by myself :D

Cannon was in good shape. 27 trails open today...read my advice in the "Good Deals" thread. $38 tix...$28 if you have a pass from another mtn I believe. Call ahead for more info.

If you haven't been to Cannon, upper mtn was great in PM except for Vista which was getting thin. Zoomer area--Gary's and Rocket were best...Zoomer was interesting. Express Quad offered a handful of routes down--Middle Cannon and Ravine/Turnpike were WELL covered.
