Suppose someone held you at gunpoint and said you must ski on Friday March 29th (I have.) Where would you go for best trail count & conditions two weeks from now? Let's say 2.5 MAX hours from Boston. NH and VT are in the offing. Exclude Ragged and Burke (been there done that this year) or things far afield like Maine, JP, Stow and Sugarbush.

I am accompanying someone who is upper intermediate who doesn't mind skiing marginal , "thin cover", natural or groomers. Inbound woods be nice but not mandatory.

Based on last year's experience? And on a weekday? Loon, hands down.

Loon was my first thought as well. Even with people having Good Friday off, it's late enough in the season where I don't think crowds will be an issue.

Sorry to rub it in but I will be skiing in Utah that day. Hope all of the northeast is good that day (and beyond) and you have your choice.

Billski, do you have an RSNE Card I assume?
Lot of 2 for 1's available midweek along with the Irving BOGO if you have been following up with that.
How about Pico?

Thanks x. Unbelieveably, I'm not concerned about the price. Things are going to be dirt cheap anyways. Pico is on the table. Interested in the base conditions and trail count.

Oh, and Pico would be my vote too. I had a great time there earlier this season. Though that's a bit beyond the 2.5 max from Boston, unless you're a faster driver than I am.

If someone held ME at gunpoint and said I must ski on Friday March 29th, I wouldn't remotely care who YOU are skiing with or where YOU have been this year. So I would, and probably will, ski at Cannon.

Not sure about Loon hands down but Okemo, Killington, and Bretton Woods have high trail counts and have staying power! I will go where the best deal is! Pay attention and watch for Killington 2 fer deals in the spring! Mount snow is another option weather permitting!

I was trying to stick to the 2.5 hr limit in the OP, but I usually drive 70, so maybe those three are doable for others more adventurous than I :)
