I am a complete Jeckle and Hyde when it comes to skiing solo or with a group. I never hit up a terrain park or tree runs when skiing solo. I will ski bump runs but don’t push myself at all. More often than not I will ski groomers and make wide sweeping turns the entire way down.
When I ski with a group I push myself almost every single run. If we ski a terrain park I don’t think twice about launching myself. If we ski trees I try to ski as hard and fast as I can while looking for any type of cliff to huck myself from. When skiing bumps I push myself so much that I tend to get out of control. They only groomers I ski are trails that connect to either a tree, park or bump run and I am usually flying.
That being said, I get so much more enjoyment out of skiing with a group as opposed to skiing solo. If given the choice to ski a bigger resort solo or a small ant hill with a group, I’m always going to choose the group. Sundown is no where near as fun as the big VT/NH/ME resorts, but I would ski it any day with the C.L.I.T.S over solo at the bigger resorts
