There's a part of me that hasn't accepted it... the skis are still in the car.

I left them in the hall last year. I found it depressing so now they are hidden in a spare bedroom......still depressing though.

I'm not done but my bank account is. I might try to make it to the Loaf for the last weekend there. Just have to see how I'm holding up financially. If I don't make it out again I'm still content after an awesome season.

Revised end of season plans

4/27 - Sunday River free day

5/3 - Sugarloaf. I have a twofer coupon for this day, so anyone interested in saving a bit of dough, shoot me a pm as I'm in need of a second

Hey that's great. Good luck with that.

Thanks. I'm starting to get a little nervous.

The Olympic qualification process for fencing is pretty complex: http://www.fie.ch/download/homepage/en/Criteria for qualification OG-FIE-ang.pdf (if you feel like making your brain hurt)

Thankfully, most of the spots are already decided for the US team.... However, in Men's Sabre (which is typically the most pressure filled event anyway), 4 people are fighting for 2 slots. We (the US) qualified a team, so we get to send 4 athletes. 3 of which actually get to compete, and 1 alternate. Slots 1 & 2 are locked in, slots 3 & 4 are up for grabs, and so not only is it a situation where 2 of 4 get to go to Bejing, but only 1 of the 4 will (probably) get to compete (unless someone gets hurt or something), so I expect everyone will be on edge on Saturday.

Is that a little bit of fencing humor?

Ha! I didn't even realize I did that... nice catch.

I love puns and wordplay (mainly because it pisses one of my friends off), so had I thought of it, I would have been proud of myself... but sadly, it was unintentional humor.

I'm done also, Wednesday 4/16 at Okemo was a great way to end it with sweet corn and soft bumps. 30 days this season, exceeding the pre-season goal of 25. The next few weeks I will be going through withdrawal, and then I will be OK until August, when the pre-season jones kick in!

I plan on being at both as well. Both days at the river this weekend, maybe both days at the Loaf next weekend. After that, more hiking probably. Hiked Shawnee Peak again last night. It was probably the last night of continuos top to bottom. Had a bbq at midstation with 11 other guys! It was a blast.

I'm finito. Last day 4/20 at Killington. I'm not really positive how many days I got in, but it was at least 30 with a Western trip included to Colorado. Would probably do a little more if I was closer, but, for me, it's too far a drive from central NJ for a few trails. I was more into quality over quantity this season and didn't hit bad conditions not one day. The week in Colorado was also spectacular!

I'm done. :( Didn't make it to Sugarbush today like I hoped. It's kind of a bummer, but I had a good season so it's hard to be too bummed out.

I hate to end my season with a day skiing in the rain, but today making my last few runs, it just felt like its time to call it a season. I'd like to make it to the Loaf' next weekend and I hope the weather is good for those that make it, but I left the hill today feeling satisfied with a great season, so I'm gonna leave it like that.

I'll go at least another week. I likely won't decide where I'm going this weekend until Sugarbush and Jay Peak announce what they're doing. I have a condo meeting at KMart on Saturday afternoon I probably should attend and a little walking on Saturday morning wouldn't kill me.
