tough call excluding north of i89. mad river valley is probably a good second choice as my money is on jay and mansfield having the best powder. though there likely won't be much left if you aren't up there today. all of new england has been chomping at the bit for a day like today for over two months!

Come to the Mad River Valley.
OK King, I'll bite - I was at the bush 9 days ago, had a great time. Now for something new: MRG. How's the wood's skiing at MRG? If it's good, whereabouts is some woods sking at MRG that isn't super-pitched?

The woods skiing is great at MRG. Start poking around off the single and you'll surely find something to your skill level from blues to hardcore blacks.

Mount Ellen was on wind hold all day. Should be some nice pow up there mon. The only lifts that turned were Sunny D and Inverness.

MRG at 6am monday reports:
Mad River Today Feb 27, 2006 at 06:00:00

It seems like Mother Nature is trying to make up for her lousy early season performance. Today should be another epic powder day giving skiers the opportunity to wallow around in the fluffiest "Champlain Powder" of the season, and the groomers will be perfect. It has been snowing and blowing all night and frankly its kind of hard to get a handle on exactly what fell overnight, at this point lets call it another 1"-2". This brings our totals to 14"-16" OF SNOW SINCE Saturday and over 2' SINCE WINTER RETURNED ON FRIDAY and yest it's still snowing!!!! The forecast is calling for more snow throughout the week- it truly is a Winter Wonderland out there.

That's it, I'm outta here. Waitsfield here I come..... If you change your mind, hail me on channel 13-3.
