While reading the "Overprotective or Overreacting" thread it got me to thinkin', who is my favorite person to ski with. Then I got to thinkin' who would I like to ski with but never would get the chance to.
So here's a 2 part question: 1st Who's your favorite person to ski with (spouse ok but cop out :spin:), 2nd who would you like to ski with but prolly never, ever get the chance to. Then explain why for both.

Here's mine----My most favorite person to ski w/ is my pal Tommy. He and I are of the same ability and have been skiing together for 30 some odd years. We enjoy following each other down the hill, seems like we have a sick sense for what each other is going to do next. Kinda freaky at times. We take 3-4 day trips together (usually WF) and our familys always take a week long trip together as well (usually Stowe).

The person I'd most like to ski with but will never get the chance would be Bode Miller. Why?? Simple. That dude rips and he's gotta be blast in the bar after.

Anyway, how about you.....

Well, probably my friend Nate because we've progressed through our sub interests of skiing with each other (carving -> soft snow -> bumps -> woods -> powder -> back country -> ski mountaineering) and we're pretty damn near the same skill level. Plus he's easy company, a gifted athlete and an intelligent person. Even though he does fart a lot.

Person I'd like to ski with but won't ever- this is a list tied with a few at the top, but there are only two main groups at the top... that doesn't make much sense but the list will:

Mike Hattrup/Glen Plake - for obvious reasons
Lou Dawson/Andrew McLean/Greg Hill - while either of these three guys could probably do at twice the vert in a day of touring than I, they are experts with years of experience and all seem like pretty cool guys from which I could learn unbelievable amounts of knowledge.

My wife is my favorite, no copout, just the truth. We started out together in January of 2002 and have racked up 223 days since. Who would I like to ski with, just friends that I've met along the way (don't really care to ski with anyone I won't have a chance to ski with). A few to come to mind real quick RoarK, Snowmonster, BobR, Trailboss, Grassi21 (for video ops ), Zook, BeanoNYC, and a host of others to numerous to mention that I have met through Alpinezone and KillingtonZone.

Probably my friends Dave and Sara, though it's been several years since we have had the pleasure. The winter we had ski bumming in Stowe together was mad fun though.

Who would I like to ski with? The children I currently do not have, but plan on having someday. I'm really looking forward to passing along my passion for the sport. IMHO there is NO better family activity than skiing, so I very much look forward to experiencing that as a father as I have so many great memories as a son.

I really enjoy skiing with the people that I work with. They are all awsome skiers/riders. My favorite is one named Adam, and he is a boarder. Awesome rider, and is always right there with me. He isnt the type that just stops and sits in the trail and takes forever to put bindings on and my other complaints of snowboarders.

I've only ever skied with Brian. Oh yeah, and his Dad a few times.

Don't really have any dream ski partners. I'm out there to enjoy it, not compete.

I guess I have to say my wife...

While that's true, I really like skiing with people that are better than me because they push me to try terrain that I probably wouldn't otherwise. The two that come to mind immediately are Greg and JimG from this site.

Who would I like to ski with but never will?? James Bond, he's always getting shot at so that's no fun...

Anyone who's better than me. It pushes and motivates me and I always come out a better skier at day's end. Not as good, just better than I was. No matter how good you are, there is always someone better.
