Jellybeans not egg. Also they were pastel colored. For some reason they repainted this one a boring gray.
Ah yes, thank you for the correction.
And from That other photo, definitely not the same as Wildcat, windows too big!

It's probably Vail selling it. Times are tough. Found some junk cabin in one of their lift boneyards and pass it off as a Wildcat gondola to some unsuspecting rube.

Vail is hitting it out of the park at the Cat. https://www.skiwildcat.com/the-mountain/mountain-conditions/lift-and-terrain-status.aspx

A little better at Attitash still not what that system can do.
Is Cat still water limited right ght now? As high up into the Notch as they are, I don't think they have access to water storage as the lower areas do. If so, doubt their stream draw is too good right now. I know that is part of Crotched's issue, that pond was super low last time I was there.

I had that conversation with the former GM, Brian Heon, who you are so fortunate to now have at Sunday River. Under normal conditions, Cat's small pond can be refilled in about 36 hours. When it gets extremely cold, it can take a few days.

This wasn't a huge issue under Peak. I don't recall a year during my time there that by January 8th, they didn't have:

Polecat, Lynx and Catapult TTB, the beginner areas, Bobcat and Wild Kitten completed by now. Most years they'd be 100% done by MLK weekend, which means the above plus Alley Cat and Cheetah and then maybe Black Cat during a good year. Then they'd go back to Lynx and Polecat to build base for April.

Attitash would have been significantly further along by now too.

The issue is likely lack of labor and penny pinching around energy costs.

Then they gamble on Mother nature saving their ass and getting the place to 100% for February and March to hopefully help make people forget their pathetic first half of the season operations. This is why I'll only buy a couple of Epic Day passes now instead of a full Epic Pass. I simply don't have the patience to put up with Vails cheapness for two months every season while virtually every other operator gets how important aggressive early season snowmaking is in the East and offers double the terrain or more than Vail in NH.

I have given up on the day passes (that count toward there season pass counts somehow) as well.

I bought two last year and this. Mainly to take my kids to places they haven't gone to before or were too young to remember.

Last year it was Cat and Tash. This year will be Cat and Sunapee. Next Cat and Crotched.

I don't like giving Vail a dime, but I love Cat too much to say goodbye completely.

Right where I want to be
I love the cat also. Top 5 in New England for me but I just can’t stand seeing it like it is being treated. All the other NE vail properties I don’t care for except Stowe which I did go to last year and didn’t have a great time. Only had one great day there over the last 5 years or so( just not picking the right day is my fault). Although the lines and general feel with the place has seemed to have changed.

Not so certain about the fortunate part. Certainly not as open and inviting for input as his predecessor.

Really?

I suppose that's in part to do with running an operation that's at least ten times larger. When he was the GM at Cat, he was always chatting up folks in the lodge about their experience and what they could do better.
