When I knew the forecast was calling for snow, I decided Monday was a vacation day. With a snow base reaching over 100 inches in spots and a foot of fresh snow, I though what better place to go than Wildcat. The weather also aligned perfectly with my choice of venue, as blue skies and mild temps (low 40s) prevailed. My buddy Al was concerned about finding freshies the day after a powder day. He needn't have worried, the mountain was empty and although 80% of the mountain had been groomed, we still found plenty of places untouched by groomers or other skiers. We even did it right out in the open, skiing the liftline beneath the quad: Pussycat-Starr Line-Catacomb-Verticat. We also found some nice fresh snow on the bumps on Feline and the Cat n' Hat Glades beneath the Tomcat Lift (not running).

Soooo... Pussycat, Verticat, Cat 'n Hat Glades???
So... anyone want to share where those are... I know they are not stashes but maybe something like they changed names etc? I think I might post this question on a few forums... The report was afterall March 23, 1998...

And yet, there is more!

From an old review... Kinda cool because it mentions the Goldola:

The 4,050 foot summit is serviced by a veritable antique 2-person gondola, but it delivers top to bottom skiing on 2,100 vertical feet of wonderful classic New England skiing. Once they've mastered the trails from the Snowcat Triple even Beginners can enjoy the summit view by winding their way down the 2.75 mile Polecat trail. Intermediates can find relief on Upper Catapult while seek more challenge on Lynx (diamond, but groomed the day I was there) and Wildcat (bumped but not too steep). Experts will enjoy the "classic" trail Wildcat and find challenge on the double diamond trails Lift Lion and Pussycat (broad but gnarly testers which shoot down the mountain face underneath the gondola and triple chair). In addition to the Gondola, The Catapult Triple Chair starts 1/3 of the way from the top and also provides access to the summit trails.

So I guess that sort of answeres one of my questions...

Hmmm...
I found some of that stuff on http://www.newenglandski.com/gallery/wcat_wildcat.html
