I know this is primarily a northeast skiing forum, but has anyone skied here before? I don't know that much about it, but I've pulled up the reviews, and everyone has great things to say. They get the most snow in CO (over 450 inches a year). It's pretty far away (about 5.5 hours), so I want to know if it is worth my while.
I looked at its trail map and it is a little.......different..... Normally resorts go from single diamond to plain double diamond, and in Colorado, to double diamond with the E-X inside each diamond for extreme. Extreme meaning up to a 55° pitch and/or (minimum) 20 foot cliffs. This will make me think 2, 3, maybe 4 times before going down that trail or deciding to turn away, but every double black at wolf creek is "extreme", with no "plain" double blacks. But with trails that have a name of "52° Trees", that really makes me wonder how the trails are supposed to be rated....
I couldn't find very much on AZ posted about it, and no pictures. Anyone have any insight?
Their trail map is too big to post, check it out here.
