You laughed at Bode? Wow. The skill level must have really stepped up a few hundred notches in NJ. How many olympic ski/snowboard champions are from that wonderful state? I'm sure your above such "amateurish" errors.

I think Bode sat down that evening and laughed at that videotape himself. Hooking the tip on gate #2 is amateurish. Especially since Bode trained me to expect him to turn that mistake into an acrobatic one-ski weight-back sit-down recovery, followed by a podium-worthy finish!

Yes, New Jersey: Home state for Donna Weinbrecht, bump queen circa 1992. (Holy crap, was it that long ago?!)

Also home of the mountainous Governor Christie, whose overbearing wisdom has passed a mandatory helmet law for skiers and snowboarders under 18. Do you freaking believe that?

How is this season going? I used to watch all the events, at least on late-night replay. But I have no idea what's going on since NBC decided to become millionaires (*sarcasm*) by charging separately for Winter Sports.

Good to hear (not see) that the team's doing well. Chamonix should be coming up soon. Maybe I'll see if I can stream it.

Way to go Juuuuules!

GER - Garmisch-Partenkirchen | Super G | OFFICIAL RESULTS
05.02.2012
1. MANCUSO Julia

“I was thinking to myself when I was crossing the finish line, if that wasn’t good enough, I don’t know what is,” Mancuso said. “I didn’t feel like I had the best run, but I felt like I kept a clean ski and carried my speed the whole way.”

What happen to LV - DNF!

Most notable of these was Saturday’s downhill winner and current World Cup overall leader Lindsey Vonn, who slipped up around a right-hand turn after the second split and missed the following gate.

Some real surprises with Linds this weekend. Then again, she's so many points ahead of everyone, it will nary make a difference. The Men's DH was interesting. The dude who had an equipment fairlure was a real disappointment. He did nothing wrong, the binding just popped. Man was he pissed.

So was Steigler/US in the women's gs. Baum DNF. Like racing around here. Freaking fast course, easy to mess up.

Now, if they could only get rid of the dork with the annoying horn.
