I would have to agree with you on that. But something about this past weekend really made me want to live in VT. Considering we are about to close on a house in Southbury, CT, this won't happen for some time. But who knows, we may take a trip out West and change our minds. Isn't life fun like that?

As long as you're not bored.

Or starving. Starving sucks too.

Heck no...I love where I live. The mountains, lakes, seasons etc.
I do however like Boulder a lot and if I was absolutely forced to move, thats where I would go.

While the conditions out West are consistent, do you get the same breed of people as we have in the East? I went to a pig roast and met a good bunch of hippies this weekend (Austin forgive me, I know how you feel about hippies). We had a blast, met some great people, and scored a new place to crash in VT. Anyway, the more I start to appreciate skiing here in the East and meeting different people like those hippies I'm staying put for awhile. I can't remember the name of the town. We were off of 91 in VT. Exit 3 to 5 North and then bang a left on East West. East or West Dunerston?

Now, don't get me wrong. I will certainly be taking some trips out West when I have my S together and can appreciate the experience.

That was probably West Dummerston, there is a lost ski area there, Black Mountain. I went to college in Putney, next town up and had a party house there. Oh....the memories.

Without hesitation. Mistakes can be corrected, lost opportunities cannot be easily reversed...

Yes I would, but would keep a place out here too, as my SO has a lot of family here, and I have some. But living near a big mountain, and having access to fresh snow all winter as well as the beautiful warm weather activities would make for a very fulfilling life for us.

My wife told me last night that an electrician she knows just moved back here from Colorado. He said the economy was so bad he couldn't make it. Is this true.Seems like my future parade might be rained out.

Since I am trying to sell here on LI, I have been tracking the housing market nationwide. Things have come to a screeching halt! New construction is stalled. I can see a big problem for people in the "trades" that service that industry. The foreclosure rate on "big box" mortgages is skyrocketing. What happened to our "booming" economy"

Oh man, you're in a bad place.... Not happy anywhere now?
heheh...300+ days of sunshine and 300+ inches of snow a year can spoil you a bit. But there are more important daily life issues.
In CO I missed: water, trees, ocean, culture, roots, history, etc...
Now in NH I miss: jobs, affordable housing, mass transportation, younger demographics, laid-back lifestyle,...
Oh, and yes, the snow I miss too...
