1. You consider any fresh snow powder.

"pfff, there is perfectly good powder under that inch of rain crust!"

2. When you look up at your tracks in the powder you see grass and rocks sticking out.

Alright, let me think of another....

3. You're pretty impressed with yourself for continuing to ski even when the coverage is this terrible:

Then you see some other idiot continue to ski even further.

4. The only weather you check for skiing is for the summit of Mt. Washington because it atleast is below freezing most the time in a season like this (I actually do this)

You complain CONSTANTLY about the weather and that there is not enough snow. Even though you know there is nothing you can do to change the weather and all of the complaining is just releasing more hot air that is contributing to global warming.

If you complain that there is TOO MUCH snow.
or If you complain that the trails are ungroomed (after snowing 4" during the day.)

(It really happens. Ski Patrols hear it all the time from middling skiers after a small dump).

I just want to slap those people :dunce: I have heard this before at southern Vermont ski areas. "Groom the powder flat!" What kind of devil worship creates such thinking

You know your'e an East Coast skier if you spend more time cutting lines in the woods then skiing the woods.

You know you're an ECS if it's neg 20 and sunny is a nice day to be out...

The same people who want everything so d*mn "conveeeeeenient"
(Which is a good reason to keep the glades and stash entrances hidden, or at least scary looking. Otherwise they'd be in there complaining about too many "sticks, rocks and branches....")

OK, let's try and turn this a bit more positive:

You know you're an east coat skier when you can handle just about any conditions, whether it's ice, dirt, or pow.

You know you're an east coast skier when you run into a west coast wus on the slopes and they cry about the conditions out here, which at the time to you consider optimal.:daffy:

"that's not ice it's N-ice"
you might be an EC skier if you say "it's just a little scraped off" when bullets could bounce off the trail.
and
you might be an EC skier if the first thing you look for in a ski is "hard snow grip"
