01/05 - stratton (powder day!)
01/11 - jay peak
01/12 - sugarbush

01/18 - bolton - timberline opened the prior day and there was plenty of untracked lines to ski. Bolton is fast becoming a favorite and a place I will spend money off Indy pass

01/19 - ellen (powder day!) - I’m using the tag, fuck it. Only 2” up high but I found so much untracked snow in the woods. I skied powder most of the day so I’m calling it a powder day. Lift ops perfection with NRX running strong

01/20 - stratton (powder day!) - unquestionable use of the pow day tag here. 7-9” overnight. A little late arriving due to slow drivers but was on the chairs at 8:35. Wanted to hit the super trail but it was so chewed up just in the few min to ride sunrise, so I opted for woods instead. Perfect untracked lines in all stratton woods marked and unmarked. Summit glades to west pilot super tasty

Folks, I am declaring a Vtah, at least for NoVT and SoVT over 3k feet. We are one big storm away from upgrading the Vtah to a Verpan

Busy start to the vacation and lots of driving. So far, so good. Was a little nervous seeing the town of Banff have very little snow compared to what I’ve seen before. But each mountain has had a great base built up, just need some fresh snow to make it epic. Staying in Rev till Friday and should get some snow chances before then.

Not going to make it back to K until early next week so I hit Belle today. They certainly haven't backed off the snowmaking and everything skied great. Naturals skied OK trees still bony but skiable. We need a good storm.

Another few cm’s of snow over night for a refresher with a bluebird day from the summit. Took advantage and hiked to the sub peak to ski the North Bowl 3 times.

19. 1/23/25 Revelstoke
12-15 cm powder day! Everything skied excellent. Trees, Trees, and more trees.

20. 1/24/25 Revelstoke
Another great day finding fresh snow. The Ripper glades skied excellent. Sweet Spot section opened after a 3 day comp and was the run of the day.

21. 1/25/25 Revelstoke
Bonus day. Was supposed to start heading back east Friday but decided we will just make the long trip back Sunday. When I get time tomorrow I’ll make a proper trip report for the whole week in the TR section with pics.

It’s pretty deep on that whole north side right now. Nothing too tricky to get into. A bit skied out down in the runout back to Ripper but up high it’s really skiing good.

Day 10 coming at Waterville on Tuesday. Earliest day 10 for me in 6 years, and this will also be my first month with 8 ski days since before Covid also. Feels nice to be having a good season finally. As much as I miss Killington and Sugarbush, I think switching to Epic has helped accomplish my goal of skiing more. Even with having pneumonia in December and missing the big early month dumps, I'm pleased with the results so far. Will be at 13 after next weekend, planning on another Stowe excursion, this time featuring Jay.

01/25 - stratton - very surprised at the lack of crowds/lines. really good day. trees still skiing pretty well from the sun>mon storm. major routes tracked out but nothing treacherous. less known skis still with some powder to be found. long full day. 34k.

01/26 - stratton - 1" reported overnight. nice little cream layer. not the best for the woods tho as it provided a very light cover up on minor hazards. dust on crust but definitly skiable and definitely not bad. i got into two little pickles. pickle #1, was skiing the unmarked woods above west pilot in fully untracked snow and one ski went under a downed branch. went down hard and awkward and had to use a pole to get out of the binding. all good tho. then later i was skiing the woods between franks and tamarak and i managed to pop out on tamarak and i wantd back into the woods. i saw a little chute that would return me to the glade and i took it. and then as i went thru it, a part of the root structure of a downed tree that was awkwardly sticking out into my line just demolished my left thigh. that one hurt. but basically just like getting punched in the thigh. i got a purple and will stay off the treadmill today. otherwise all good.

i gotta be careful. im going to banffelstoke in under 3 weeks!

21 days. this is probably the best start ive ever had.

I had an adventure yesterday too. Was skiing some unmarked woods to the right of Double Diamond at Okemo, 2nd time through and the first time I saw the streambed coming and bailed out. Second time I was further right so I knew I was on the wrong side stream when I got to the bottom. Saw tracks heading across so I thought I was good to follow. Ended up catching my left ski on a log that was buried under the snow and then I fell into a little bit of open water (thankfully not enough to go through my outer shell) but landed pretty hard on my right side. No bruises or anything, but a little sore today.
