If not being a cheapskate, the Green Door Pub at Stratton is a really fun place. I'm talking about the basement, not the classy upstairs. Downstairs has 1-3 craft brews at a time, a special on liquor and/or beer and a free bar food buffet of wings, fries, chips, and dip right after last chair. The bartenders are consistent and get to know you by face/name. We've never had a bad time there.

Here's another vote for Burke's Bear's Den. I really hope that place is preserved as they renovate the mtn. Can't beat the rough wood floor boards, the big fireplace, and the atmosphere. The one thing that would make it better would be an actual deck in the outside area. Currently that area gets really muddy in the spring and the orange snow fencing (the designates the drinking area) is kind of tacky looking.

Pico's Lounge always had a great feel at the end of the day, some slope views, families , kids, young ladies the whole package. The Long Trail inn across Rte. 4 is a long walk but also a good apres spot, and great Guiness pour.

Barker Pub (River) - I know I'm a homer but I have to stand up for Steve and the other characters there.

Widowmaker (Loaf) - AZers love the waitstaff (right, TB!)

Wildcat Mountain Pub - Tuckerman Pale Ale on tap and floor to ceiling windows or hanging out on the deck. Spring doesn't get better than this.

Honorable Mention: Coppertop Lounge at Wachusett - ski, drink beer and watch football.

Now that I think of it the bar at Mt. Ellen is pretty cool with a nice outside deck which provides a full view of Inverness slope & nice views of Mt. Ellen.

Beats the Castle Rock bar at Lincoln Peak.
