I must admit im surprised, i gave Detroit one game ,the rainout really helped them in my opinion.. They just wanted it more, i think the Yankees were waiting for it to come to them instead of going out and getting it..

How are my boys (The Giants) doing?

Not good. ;)

It's looking like Mets, Cardinals, Tigers, and A's for the Championship Series'. In other words, all 4 of my first predictions were wrong.

I'll probably watch some of the playoff games, but most focus is now on football and hockey. The Patriots look real good. Don't judge them on games against division rivals or the Broncos. Those 4 teams ALWAYS play a close game. Even tomorrow's game against the extremely pathetic Miami has a chance of being close.

As for hockey, the Bruins were horrible last night, but won a good game against the pretty good Lightning tonight. I've learned to never judge them on their performance in October, so we'll wait and see for a bit, bit they should be pretty good with the moves they made in the offseason.

3 out of four remaining are 'small market teams'

good for baseball, not good for new england

I wouldn't call St. Louis a small market . . . they are the 18th most populous city in the country and a true baseball town . . . Also, detroit is the 11th most populous city in the country . . . They aren't like NY or Boston, but they aren't like Cincinnati, Tampa Bay or Kansas City either.

Besides . . . The Mets are still in it . . . Just because they play in the league with the better rules doesn't mean you can't like them.

It looks like Torre is on his way out of the Bronx in favor of Lou Piniella.

http://proxy.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2617224

That is the only man who would be able to replace him, George has had a love affair with Piniella for as long as i can remember.. Now after everything Torre has done, i dont care if the yankees didnt make the playoffs at all, the man has deserved to leave when he wants to leave period.....

The Yankees lost due to their lack of hitting (obvious), but being a Yankee fan I have to respect the Tigers pitching. The excuses I have been hearing about the rain delay in Game 2 is bull. They removed the tarp once, got all of the fans excited (including me at the game) and the Yankees never left their locker room. They placed the tarp back for good about 30 minutes later and had the same rest as the Tigers the following day.

Bottom line, the Tigers wanted it more and like I said in the MLB Playoffs topic the team that can handle the pressure and want it more will win... I just predicted the wrong team to choke.

I think "Yankees" fits both riddles, actually.

Nope, the Yanks were too busy getting spanked in the ALDS this year. They weren't sitting at home because they didn't make the playoffs. I wonder which team fits both riddles now? Careful of those glass houses gloating Sox fans. The numbers don't lie.

Not one false statement in that whole post RIDEr. Especially the BS rain out excuse I keep on hearing in my neck of the woods..

Where exactly are you from anyway. I tried putting your lat and longitude into a reverse lookup, but I think I'm doing something wrong. Are those other numbers minutes and seconds?

Ok where iS JIM G hiding i want his perspective on this weekends events?

Hiding?

Nah, I was off yesterday moving large piles of leaves off my lawn.

What can I say? The Yankees were horrible. I knew it was a mistake to alter the lineup, especially putting Sheffield at first. They should have kept the lineup that they had at the end of the regular season. And Bernie Williams should have played.

And now I watch.
