At least at snowbird if you get a season pass you get a free kids season pass....that a big perk.
Im pretty sure they used to offer a family pass that was a better deal than that…
I think Alta is the best cost/value option in the Wasatch. Can get a midweek for ~$1000 and with the parking reservations you are guaranteed a spot, which is invaluable in the Cottonwoods nowadays

Well, with the price increases, you are actually paying for it. On my end, I now get a season pass for my daughter that she does not use.

My season pass is now 70% more than it was just two years ago.

This is a great idea. If Peaks hadn't ever bought the snowtime resorts (Southcentral PA) they'd have been an excellent candidate for something like this.

Butt Hey! Good Ole' Robby Boy is back in the CEO seat so I'm sure things we'll be JUST FINE...

I sense a bit of Bode slipping into your posting.....

So here's a question. If Vail has a bad year even with bringing King Bobby back, does the stock then totally tank and force the sale of some assets?

(Pretty please)
It is not just the lack of visits at Vail as they are looking down the barrel at a boatload of high speed lifts that need refurbishment or replacement. They might have to sell some areas to generate cash for their HS lift replacement plan and/or sell an area or 2 with a lot old high speed lifts to reduce their exposure and pay for the replacement plan.

Often because Mom and or Dad (mostly Dad) wants to be able to ski some terrain while little Johnny or Sally learns to ski on the bunny hill tends to be wheat I have experienced, read, and heard over the years...

If the parents are only skiing a limited number of days a year, and bringing their kid(s) to a bigger (often more $$ area) to learn, chances are it's more about the parent(s) getting their laps in that their kid(s) experience that day, which certainly could be happening at a smaller (often way less $$) ski area
well if thats what you want then you pay the higher price.

You mean that in the numerous times Rob K has said that one of Vail's goals to the grow the sport via getting groups of folks into the sport that typically haven't been in the past (queue up the images as he's saying this of inner city folks of a diverse background), is just a smoke and mirrors thing? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

No, that's not a "smoke and mirrors" things, that's a virtue-signaling, "I want to be invited to the rich, white, limousine liberal cocktail parties" thing.

Rest assured these will be called, "non core assets" in that 8k.

The Bird in late May, and Solitude in early May, skied MUCH better than NE in Late March early April. I don't know why anyone would buy an Epic pass over Ikon pass in UT unless your down the street from PC.

I assumed so too, but I've met a lot of people who live on the Front who have EPIC pass. The #1 reason (I always ask them) is they are sick of LCC/BCC traffic.

I've also heard a few say they're concerned that the traffic is increasing the risk of interlodge as well on the best days, but I don't know if that's actually true or not.

I have no idea what this means. "Good days" have always been busy in LCC. Now they are also busy in BCC. There is no vast conspiracy to order a false interlodge so that a few hotel guests can have a "Country Club" day on the slopes.

I've been getting a Snowbird senior pass for the last seven years. I think '23-24 was the first time they offered the free child's pass (18 and under) for every adult pass purchased, and it's for any child, not necessarily a relative. Last year I couldn't find anyone to give it to and just let the offer go to waste:( This year I found a deserving family and me and a buddy gave ours to them. Their parents have to sign the liability waiver so I felt pretty safe giving it to a friend of a friend. Meanwhile, I discovered that there is a bit of a black market with the free kid passes being sold under the table by adult pass holders who don't need them.

Also, I felt that parking was considerably less problematic this year at Snowbird compared to '23 and 24, which were much snowier winters and presumably drew more visitation. Yet the month of April was really great this year with moderate crowds and good snow preservation temps. I did catch a ride five or ten times this winter with a buddy with a premium parking pass at Snowbird which helped, especially on a handful of weekends, but there were another 25-30 days when I drove myself and did ok. I got close to 40 days at Snowbird this winter and 20something at other places with my accompanying Ikon base pass.

They dont mean "fake" interlodges, but meaning that with the increasing traffic snarl (you yourself have said it's getting worse and worse) it's leading to increasing risk of potentially earlier interlodge calls for safety reasons in that with even more people on the road = more risk. As I mentioned, no idea how much (or if any) of that is true or not or whether there are perceived or real legal risk considerations at play, just parroting what I've heard. Sounds like you dont believe this is a thing, but at least for the few who mentioned it, their fear of getting stuck seemed real.
