This pic is from Stowe's website. It that Justin Trudeau renting skis?

Sure looks like him but no sign of Katy Perry so probably not. True story, I ran into a couple of French Canadian dudes drinking beer in Valhalla at Jay Peak a couple weeks ago and somehow the Trudeau-Katy Perry relationship came up.

Trudeau worked as a snowboard instructor at Whistler before following his dads footsteps into politics

Yep. Quad is smoking!

Upper Smugs open but groomed. Whirlaway closed, along with Spruce Line.
Skiers right of Spruce line looks deep but top entrance is a bit scoured... down to granite.

I bet those 4runner laps are cold today!

Might make the trek over tomorrow or Wednesday, probably Wednesday. I very much enjoy stowe on the midweek with a little refresh, not enough to alert the powder hounds but soften things up.

I believe it might have been as I went straight down the right side. Yea it was a great ride! The same thing happened about a week ago with chin clip. They mowed it down for a reset then the Gondi was closed for 2 days for the crazy winds we had. We got 6 to 8 inches over those two days while it was closed. Second cab up non stop run t2b amazing!

This weekend is a conundrum...

Looks like our rainy weekend is now all snow after tomorrow night, continuing through Monday. Not a huge storm but a few inches each day.

I also see the resort is almost 100% open except for literally everything off Haychute, which is pretty much the entire front four. I know they were making snow up there a couple days ago. Are they gonna keep the whole front four closed because of some snowmaking on Haychute that they haven't finished yet? Even with the snow I feel like that would be a dealbreaker for me to book a room and head up there.

Next chance to go up is in 2 weeks...

Tough call.

Front Four were closed this week likely due to barely covered sheet ice. Expect the limited snowmaking this week on Liftline and the snow Tues pm improved their condition, but are sure to get scraped quickly if no significant new snow.

They only made about 1/3 of what they usually put down on Liftline due to marginal temps. Will take another week to complete... and that helps refill everything adjacent.

I feel like I should just skip this weekend then. Give it another 2 weeks to get back up to snuff. Save the vacation day for March.

yea it probably won't be until next weekend that that side of the mountain is back open due to more snowmaking. Might be able to open starr and lookout again if the snow later this weekend comes through
