Another crap article about Hunter

This one brought to you by Skiing magazine. I guess the feet of snow that fell out of the sky St. Pats day wasn't worth writing about. So instead they write another useless article about.......the bars. Yes, the famous Hunter nightlife. How many shots the bartenders did, the food, more booze, the guidos...the guidos?
I thought all the real guidos where long gone, traded in their IROC Z's for minivans after they got married and had their 2.5 kids. I mean come on, this isn't 1985 anymore. Do any of these so called writers even bother to ski in these places when they get there? I can't recall a single meaningful article about these places. Hunter, Belleayre, Plat. But when they do write about them, with Hunter it's always about the bars. Useless!

Really hate to have to defend our mountain all the time. Let's see if the new guy JI on the management team can get an article written about the real Hunter. An awesome beginner and advanced terrain mountain.

Agreed, and it is very entertaining to watch the above group attempt to conquer incredibly difficult trails like Belt Pkwy, and Hellgate.

I'm writing Skiing mag and pitchin a bitch, enough is enough. Maybe they will even have the balls to print it and respond. Did this to an audio mag once after a writer proclaimed thet records where dead. They printed it. We will see.

My letter to the editor:

Marc,

I would like to say first that I like you're magazine and have been a reader for many years. But you're article on Hunter Mountain, which I'm sure was light hearted in spirit, did a great disservice to a great mountain. Why is it that every article about Hunter concerns the nightlife, the bars, and how everyone is drunk and a Guido. Hunter is one of the best mountains in the area. It's all about the skiing. They have some of the best terrain for all abilities and the best snowmaking system and snowmakers on the entire east coast. When will this OLD attitude about the place change. Not soon if articles such as this continue to be written. People who have never been there will get the impression that it is only good for loud mouth drunks, certainly not for families. It's not 1985 anymore. I have yet to meet these Guidos on the slopes. maybe they are in the bars but that is not what Hunter is about. You're writer couldn't find anything to ski that day, St. Patricks day ! I seem to remeber quite a lot of the white stuff coming down at that time. I believe it was called the St. Patricks day storm, one of the better ones to hit the coast. This is a family owned mountain that employs a great many people, I think they are the largest employer in the area. How about an article about the real Hunter, the one you ski on.
