As I type there are four men with chain saws cutting 62 acres of approved galdes at whiteface mountian. :spread:

Sunday River has the nicest vibe and people I have ever seen at a resort.

1+ ...*but skiing the weekend is a double-black test of control...
**Having said that...have to admit I've gotten clipped more by the little Bodes at Sugarloaf...LOL, but during a snowstorm...excluding backcountry(my favorite)...Sugarloaf's powder and pitch is great...with Saddleback a very close second.

I don't have a "home mountain," so probably the part about it enjoyed by most people is that I'm not there...

Pat's Peak - Nice beginner and intermediate terrain, kid friendly, and you get plenty of time to plan out your next run while riding on the quaint lifts.

Wawa - Great location close to Boston.

Hunter - Awesome snowmaking, great terrain, most reliable snow in the area, and closest "real" ski area for me.

Killington - A huge amount of terrain for the east, I've had it being a blizzard on Snowdon, and sunny slush on Bear at the same time. Regardless of the weather, there's always some area of the place that has the conditions I'm looking for at that time.

One of the few mountains in the east with consistently open trees from sometime in December right up to closing day except immediately following rain/freeze events.

biggest, most diverse terrain in the east. long season, huge snowmaking. 250"+ natural snow. lots of high speed chairs and ganjala's.

a "first chair, last call" kinda place.
