left gully at mt washington...steeper than the headwall and twice as long.

If your counting Mt. Washington then I'll throw in any of the Slides at Whiteface. There's nothing (IMO) that is lift served in it's class on the East coast.

I don't know about trail, but Mount Ellen has the best set up in the east for the longest season.

Where else gets over 250 inches of snow and offers a lift with steep pitched trails above 3000 feet?

Liftserved: I'd have to say Stein's (currently) is the best. Before it, the trail pod off of the Summit Quad @ Mount Ellen could not be beat.

Non-lift served: Tux. I was skiing there in Mid-June.

My vote goes to OL. Sugarloaf is great, but it's too cold, and the exposure is such that it always feels dark (except in late spring around the Regae fest). Outer Limits is sweet all through March and Early April, then you just move the party over to Superstar.

On Mt. Washington I will go with Hillman's. Long consistant pitch and gets great sun for some super corn.

But O.L. is the hands down winner. Great exposure, big slope and the parking lot is right there for the best part of spring skiing - The tail gate party. Nothing better then the grill and the cooler at your disposal.

Weird... probably my two least favorite runs on Mt. Washington. I think they get tracked up too quickly and aren't wide enough to arc huge turns. Plus Left Gully doesn't see enough sun. Sluice is probably my favorite run on Washington.

How many days did they have them open last year?

We got skunked last year. Could have skied them in December if you wanted to poach. Slide one on a spring day is the bomb. After a couple hundered people go down it it gets bumped up for the first third of the trail. There are hits on the left and right that land you into a 75 yard wide giant bump field. After that you get into the waterfalls section. If you ever hiked up them in the summer you would wonder how you can ski down them in the winter. You pick your way down and if you know where you are going you can do it in one shot with a couple of airs thrown in. You can go as big as you want. The bottom third one two and three come together and you zig all over the place trying to stay upright because your quads are screaming. You come to a stop and look up and watch other people come down. Go out the spill way and only another 800 feet of vert to the lift. On a good snow year it a tough stretch.

Rumor at Gore.

It faces east so it is good to go by about 10am. Lots of big soft bumps and tons of snow. It is at the top of Gore and some of the snow usually lasts until Memorial Day.

I actually don't find Stein's that enjoyable of a Spring Trail at all - namely because it lack's the most important part of spring skiing and that is SUN. The run is always in the shade!

I hear what you're saying.

Stein's is great for holding snow though, not for Sun, but definitely for holding snow.

I guess there are two kinds of spring runs. The Devil's Fiddle that are super soft all spring long and the Stein's that can hold the snow through May.

certainly not well known but doug's drop at Burke always leaves me smiling, variety of bumps both in size and shape, ledges(often exposed), steep bumps in the edge woods, and it goes right to the pub

I never thought of that....you're right! I think the Dawn Patrol will have to adopt this as a favorite trail!

Steins at the end of the season kicks the snot out of me. I prefer my bumps a little smaller than that.
