Looks like East Fall is coming online soon. Normally when that happens, do they spin the quad, or are you sliding down to the K1?

at this point i'm not aware of them having blown the runout so i'd say they'd be running the quad. they've done that before. i'm willing to bet they start on cascade in the next day or so and might have them both to quad for the weekend.

Typically they get lower east fall going, with the runout, and they open the canyon quad on weekends. I can't remember them opening it without the runout being available, probably for redundancy reasons if the CQ goes down and weekday K-1 access. We may see it in the next day or so, without the CQ.

I also think they like to open the superstar quad and skye/bitter to get people spread out, before working on Cascade, because it requires major snowmaking output.

I don't think we'll see cascade this weekend, but we'll see Snowshed, Superstar quad, Snowdon Quad, and possibly the Ramshead Quad with the Caper loop around through snowdon. There's a possibly that North Star, Great Bear, Vagabond, and Frolic will be open on natural snow after this storm.

That would be a nice treat for Friday. Hoping a nice base sets up tomorrow and then you guys see some upslope Thursday into the weekend. Anyone else gonna be out Friday?

apologies greg, northstar is mine tomorrow ;-)

from the blog:
Tonight, snowmaking crews will light up Cascade top to bottom and link in Cascade Runout so we can get Lower East Fall open for this weekend. Depending upon weather and snow conditions, Cascade may open as well. We’re also planning to have Skyelark (top-to-bottom) and Lower Bittersweet open Saturday. Upper Bittersweet may come on line early next week. Additional terrain may open pending snow conditions and evaluation by ski patrol, which, by the way, will be strictly enforcing Your Responsibility Code. Remember, skiing or riding on closed terrain will result in loss of lift privileges.

That's a very impressive jump in terrain! Go Killington!

SR is also announcing 35+ trails this weekend... Our season is getting back on track :)

Moove alooong, nothing to see here...this is not the mountain you want to skiiii.

The conditions page is showing Spillway open. ????? You can only get there from the Canyon quad area, but nothing is open in that area. Odd?

Maybe Lower East Fall is open? They've been pounding that with snow making this week.

The guns were going on it when I was there Monday, but the trail report page shows no lower East Fall. Could be a typo. Trail count says 21 but only 20 listed. Could be open then. Just thought I was missing something.

Trails Report has been filled with typos all week and continues to have wrong info throughout. Also, right now it lists 22 trails as open, conditions page says 21 trails open.

Did North Star open today? Your photo reports on K-zone are great.

I agree 100% about racing trails not counting as open...

I'm nervous how many racing trails will be set up at SR this weekend... seems like early season they always take up a ton of space.

Looked awesome, was crap. Opened around noon. Hardpack, death cookies, etc. All of yesterday's snow must've blown into the woods.
