I went up to ski for a couple hours today and check out the damage from Monday's rain. I found about what I expected: Trails that have been groomed are skiing OK, trails that have been groomed and that have seen snowmaking are skiing great, and trails that have not been groomed are closed for good reason.

Snow guns were blazing around the mountain and things will shape back up quickly. I was pleased to see there's still a good base on most trails...even if the base is solid ice.

The ungroomed places are hard!

Beartrap is still waiting for some good snow :(

Euler,
Thanks so much for the update! I can only see so much on the webcams.

Eek! That last pic of the top of Tumbleweed is rough! Beartrap looks pretty much how I thought it would. Anyone brave enough to zip down the skier's left of Beartrap?

It's a shame that weather rolled through. They had pretty much the entire mountain open last weekend. However, with the colder weather and a full lake of water, they'll get things up and running in short order. Temps should be colder today and tomorrow so I'm sure the fan guns will be blasting. We'll be heading up this weekend.

It was open and there were a couple of tracks isible on the surface. I skated to the lip, stabbed the boilerplate with my pole tip and said "nah...not today". That lump in my collarbone reminds me to keep it real!

LOL! You are a wise man!

Thanks again for the update. I'm still looking forward to making some turns this weekend. We've still got a few days left for them to make even more snow.

There wont be trees and bumps for them, but the cruisers will be in great shape by then. I kind of highlighted the gnarliest ice in my pix, but there was already plenty of great skiing on the groomed trails Weds, so Saturday will be even better!

I'm thinking these cold temps will help with snow making quite a bit. Sounds like they had a few inches of natural snow today as well. Every little bit helps! We're going to try for First Tracks on Saturday...and shoot for an early start Sunday too.
