Ok, so this week definitely brings out the once or twice a year skiers like me.

Sunday at loon, a teenage boarder was sliding down flume on his ass, holding his board like a baby. He's hauling too, kinda out of control and trying to slow down. He hits a bump, lets go of his board and the thing takes off like a rocket. I would bet it hit 50mph before it slammed into a rock where the trail turns and the liftline keeps going straight. It was rather far away from me at that point but it looked like it shattered. Funny to watch, but god damn, that idiot would've KILLED somebody had his board hit a person at that speed.

anyone see anything ridiculous this weekend?

A girl sliding down a black diamond slope on her butt. My assumption was that she got in over her head, quit and decided to head for the lodge on her tush. In her arms she carried a single ski. 100' up the trail her poles were laying neatly at the side of the trail. No sign of the missing ski.

Lot's of denim, not not just the Burton variety that only looks like denim instead of the real ski/board pant that it is ;)

I saw myself riding my mountain bike around without studded tires, and while wearing shorts, in February.

Worst I saw were a few lift loading spills...one when a person had her skis sideways as she loaded and another one where a small kid fell off just after loading. In the second instance it was a lift that IMO small kids should not have been going on.

Right where I want to be
No lines at all Saturday or Monday. Good in the short term for me, not for the industry as a whole.

Did see some young girl sliding down on her butt on the side of a diamond bump run, skis and poles in arm. The first time there was a woman with her who I thought was her mother. Then on the next ride up the lift a ski patroller was with her and another was coming down with a sled. Next time up a saw the patroller with the sled with no one in it skiing at the bottom of the trial.

Also noticed some long straight skis leaning on racks never anyone ski with them.

Then the 47 year old woman on Sunday who wondered off from Pats Peak and the ensuing search for her by the Fish and Game department. They found her Monday around noon about 3 or 4 miles away.

I think they all went to Mount Snow this weekend ;) They had lines on most every lift, and the number of kids they had in their ski school programs this weekend was immense!

Two weeks ago, I saw a guy sliding down the hill on his chest...on what looked like snowblades. It was one of the strangest things I've ever seen.

So, his legs were never in the bindings, and he was holding it in his arms?

he was cradling it like a new born baby. i have no idea what the thought process was but the outcome was interesting to say the least.

I just love when somebody decides to wait for a friend right in the middle of the entrance to the lift line or a group hangs out & talks for awhile at the entrance blocking everyone else. Doesn't have to be a holiday week. Had a guy last week at K do this with no one else around except him. I asked him if he had taken a stupid pill before hitting the slopes. Guy stood right there & didn't move after I got around him.

Lots of Giants stuff at K. An old school 90's style Giants Starter Jacket. That took me back. Sad sight for us Patriots fans.

Other than that just one nice double eject under the Snowdon Quad on Chute after it passes Great Northern. Those bindings must have been set at 0 DIN because she came straight out of them. There wasnt even a fall involved until after she ejected. It was bizarre. Tumbled end over end. Everyone on the lift gave it scores of 8 or above. A very nice dismount.

I HATE when people do this. They stand sideways across the entrance of the lift que! I never understand how people can be so self absorbed or oblivious that they dont realize or care that they are blocking the entire que! Sometimes I will jump the front or back of their skis. I usually dont like to be that much of a jerk but hey sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.:p
