Yup, I'm going there. In spirit of the "Slowest Chairlift" thread I'm now asking the lowest.

My vote has to go with the East Basin Double at Loon. I'm pretty sure at least a quarter up to a half is roped off directly under the liftline to avoid skiers from catching a ski to their dome

At Vernon Valley NJ there was a triple old chair now removed on the mid peak that I swear was maybe a foot off the ground, now that it is MountainCreek I believe they stopped using that chair.

Many, many years ago, I skied Mont Garceau in Quebec, on a school trip. When we would get on a chairlift, my friend and I had a habit of jamming the tails of our skis into the snow when the chair takes that first swing forward after boarding. This time, however, one of my skis popped off. After watching several people load, and seeing no one bringing my ski with them, I decided I needed to jump off before I got too far up the mountain. Thankfully, the chair came within a couple of feet of the ground as it passed over a rock outcrop not too far from the bottom. So, I jumped. So, yeah, about two or three feet for my entry.

The Ski Baba double at Mount Snow! Even if there's no snow on the ground, your butt in the seat is never more than 5 feet off the ground the entire ride! Plus, it's also grandfathered in and is the only chairlift at a Vermont ski area that doesn't have a safety bar

Madonna I at Smuggs is very low....maybe 6-8 ft off the snow in some places. I remember the old summit chair at Wachusett. I remember people jumping from the chair because people got so sick of how slow it was. There were spots on 10th Mountain where it was only a few feet off the ground.

Kennebago Quad at Saddleback is built entirely below tree line....really helps on those windy days.

Madonna I was lowered several years ago (the top section in particular) to cut down on wind holds. Used to be up over the trees for the whole top length and the view of Mt Mansfield at Stowe was incredible (like a trail map). Not as good now.

Glen Lift at Camelback has a section that passes maybe 3 ft at the most from the foot rest of the safety bar to the ground.

Timberline at the loaf. Needs to be shoveled out if it gets too snowy (or doesn't get blown off ...)

Grand Summit Express at Mount Snow has some roped off areas under it on Middle Exhibition. Although in general it is very high off the ground.

Upper half of the Superstar Quad at Killington is pretty low.
This is what I thought of when I read the title. The old lift at my home hill, let me rephrase that, the oldest lift at my home hill, Greek Peak, chair 2, is pretty low in spots. Kids jump off it occasionally.

Superstar lift at K is the lowest lift I can think of. The top of the K-1 gondola is pretty low at the entrance to Cascade headwall. The old mid-station off the Snowdon triple but I don't think that counts. The summit express at Pico is pretty low where they cut the tower. Your skis can almost touch the cement base.

The Slide Brook connecting lift at Sugarbush is pretty low in spots. People jump it all the time to access the area. In other spots it's probably the highest lift off the ground.
